Kansas City metro records 264 homicides in 2022. Here are the details of each killing.

Last year, Kansas City, Missouri, suffered the second-highest number of homicides in the city’s history, recording 157. When including other nearby cities, the metro area recorded 244 homicides.

Kansas City, Missouri’s deadliest year on record came just the year before in 2020, with 182 killings. The region as a whole that year saw a staggering 269 killings.

Now, in 2022, this list includes homicides reported this year throughout the Kansas City metro area. It includes the names of the victims as well as when and where they died.

The list will be updated throughout the year. The most recent homicides are at the top.

The Star includes fatal police shootings in this list, which may cause the total number for a city to differ from that kept by a police department. Some of the homicides on the list may be judged by authorities as justifiable homicide.

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI

171. Unknown man on Dec. 30

KCMO officers responded to calls of gunshots fired at 8:15 p.m. in the area of 6900 block of East 17th Street, said Capt. Leslie Foreman, a spokeswoman for the department. Shortly after, detectives entered a residence and discovered a man, who was not responsive, Foreman said.

170. Shavon Key, 18, on Dec. 21

Officers responded to a reported shooting around 3 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 8000 block of North Denver Avenue. A gunshot victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died there. A man was charged with involuntary manslaughter.

169. Curtis Henderson, 58, on Dec. 14

Officers responded to a report of shots being fired just after 1 a.m. in the 3600 block of Jefferson Street. Arriving officers found a man on the front steps of the midtown Kansas City home. He was declared dead at the scene.

167. Unknown man and 168. Unknown man on Dec. 13

Officers were dispatched at 12:20 a.m. to an apartment in the 700 block of Olive Street, where they found one man who had been shot outside the apartment and another inside. Emergency medical crews declared both men dead at the scene.

166. Tyler Wallace, 27, on Dec. 9

Around 4 a.m., officers responded to calls of gunfire in the area of 107th Street and Newton Avenue. When police arrived, they discovered a man inside a residence, who was later pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel.

165. Joshua R. Williams, 27, on Dec. 7

Around 3 a.m., officers responded to the area of Truman Road and The Paseo, where they found an unresponsive man outside of a BP gas station who had been shot. Officers performed CPR until emergency medical crews arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

164. Shayla Curts, 22, on Dec. 6

Around 8 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of Bellefontaine Avenue in regard to gunfire in the area. Arriving officers were directed to a residence on the block where a woman was found unresponsive inside. They attempted life-saving measures, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

163. Ivy House, 4, on Nov. 3

On Nov. 3, Adair Fish, 43, reported her daughter dead to police and later said she had been dead for several days. Kansas City police entered an apartment in the 5700 block of St. John Avenue just before 4:30 p.m. that day to find insect activity and trash piled several feet high. The girl was discovered wrapped in blankets amid the debris and was in “an advanced state of decomposition,” according to the documents.

On Dec. 6, the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide. Fish was charged with four felonies in connection with alleged abuse and neglect of her twin daughters.

162. Geralo Singh, 39, on Dec. 1

Police were called around 9:15 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 3200 block of Lockridge Street. A man was found inside a residence there with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

161. John Sims, 57, on Dec. 1

Police were called around 6 p.m. to check the welfare of a person at an apartment complex in the 6400 block of The Paseo. Arriving officers found one person deceased of physical trauma inside an apartment.

160. Patrick D. George, 42, on Nov. 30

Police were called just after 5 a.m. to the area of Armour and Broadway boulevards. They found a man who was unresponsive on the sidewalk suffering from apparent trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

159. Dustin Nieman, 29, on Nov. 29

Officers responded just after midnight to a Discount Smokes & Liquor store at 4305 Antioch Road to a call for an ambulance and found a person suffering from apparent trauma. Police performed life-saving measures until emergency medical crews arrived, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

157. Devohn Dudley-Reese, 16, and 158. Jazion Sanders, 18, on Nov. 27

Two people were killed and a third person was injured in a shooting at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday at East 38th Street and Garfield Avenue. The surviving victim was hospitalized with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

156. Shawn Byrne, 41, on Nov. 24

Officers were called shortly after 2 a.m. to a house at 84th and Olive streets, where a shooting victim was lying unresponsive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

155. Alan Young, 32, on Nov. 23

Kansas City police responded to a homicide in the 3700 block of E. 56th Street. A man’s body was found in the yard of a home and the cause of death was under investigation.

153. Montez Mack, 20, and 154. Leerick Kelley, 20, on Nov. 22

Officers were dispatched shortly after 1 p.m. to 28th Street and Prospect Avenue on a reported shooting. Arriving officers found two unresponsive men with apparent gunshot wounds to the west of the intersection. Both were declared dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

152. Kevin Slape, 50, on Nov. 15

Officers responded just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 5800 block of East 20th Street, where they found 50-year-old Kevin Slape outside the home with gunshot wounds. Slape was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but detectives learned over the weekend that he died from his injuries.

151. Arreyues Burton, 20, on Nov. 21

Officers were called around 12:15 a.m. to the 1300 block of East Armour Boulevard, where they found the man unresponsive inside an apartment building. Emergency medical crews pronounced the man, who had been shot, dead at the scene.

150. Christopher Beaugard, 35, on Oct. 30

Officers responded to the shooting about 7:45 p.m. at the Canyon Creek apartments and townhomes in the 9300 block of Bales Avenue. The victim was in the parking lot “when he had an interaction with one or more” people that led to shots being fired.

148. Javier Cervantes, 18, on Oct. 30

Kansas City police were called just before 9 a.m. to the 2400 block of Topping Avenue to investigate a report of a dead body that was floating in the water. Once police arrived, Cervantes was found dead on the shore line. In the parking lot investigators reported finding a “large amount of blood” and shattered glass in a parking area on the western side of the park. Detectives also noted there were apparent drag marks on the ground leading up to the spot where Cervantes was found. A 16-year-old was later charged in his death.

147. Joshua Bailes, 40, on Oct. 26

A U.S. Marshal fatally shot 40-year-old Joshua Bailes in the 3500 block of Bellefontaine Avenue while serving a warrant for Bailes’ arrest. Bailes, placed on escape status from a Leavenworth prison reenty facility in September, allegedly pointed a firearm at police from the front entryway of a residence there. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assigned to investigate the lethal use of force.

146. James Brown, 31, on Oct. 25

Three people were shot, one fatally, at about 11:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of Troost Avenue, Kansas City police said. The two surviving victims, both women, were hospitalized.

145. David Thomas, 36, on Oct. 24

Police responded to investigated a report of gunfire about 10:15 p.m. at the Ridgeview Heights Apartments in the 3200 block of Quincy Drive. Once there, officers were directed to an unresponsive man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

144. Cameta Glenn, 34, on Oct. 21

Officers were dispatched to I-35 and I-70 just after 12:30 p.m. Friday, where they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds inside her car. She was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.

143. Donald Moore, 21, on Oct. 20

Kansas City police officers were called a little after 5 p.m. to 12th Street and Grand Boulevard, where they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Police announced the next day that he had died.

142. Era’Shae Johnson, 23, on Oct. 17

Police were dispatched around 7:45 p.m. to the 5600 block of Norton Avenue on a reported shooting. The gunshot victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she died about two hours later.

140. Chantell Gibson, 35, and 141. Austin Scott, 26, on Oct. 17

Police were dispatched around 1 p.m. to an apartment in the 8700 block of Chestnut Circle in the Santa Fe Hills neighborhood seeking to make contact with a person whose family was concerned for their well-being. Inside an apartment they found two people suffering from apparent trauma inside. Both were declared dead there by emergency medical personnel.

139. Stanley Singleton, 45, on Oct. 17

Around 2:30am that morning, the Kansas City Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at the apartment complex in the 900 block of Benton. During a search, firefighters located an adult male, who was unresponsive. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later declared dead.

138. Dakota Rogers, 18, on Oct. 16

Kansas City police are investigating a homicide in the Northland after two people were shot just before 3:30 p.m. inside a car near North Oak Trafficway and Northeast Vivion Road. One of the victims died at the hospital. The other was critically wounded.

136. Tony Caldwell, 64, on Oct. 15

Officers were dispatched on accounts of gunshots heard before 7:30 a.m. around the 7100 block of East 112th Street. A person in the area helped officers locate the victim near the 7000 block of East 113th Street. A man suffering from trauma wounds was discovered at the scene and pronounced dead shortly after.

135. Daniel Busick, 19, on Oct. 14

Officers were dispatched around 7:30 p.m. to the 8000 block of Wayne Avenue on a reported shooting. A gunshot victim was found there in a front yard and pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel.

134. Karl Winn, 36, on Oct. 13

Authorities were called at about 4:40 p.m. to the the 6200 block of Tracy Avenue as emergency medical personnel attempted to provide treatment to an unresponsive man who had been attacked with a sword. He died at the scene.

133. Joseph Randall, 40, on Oct. 13

Police officers were dispatched around 7:30 a.m. to the 8100 block of The Paseo on a reported shooting. Responding officers found a gunshot victim, who was taken by ambulance to the hospital and died there. A person of interest was taken into police custody at the shooting scene.

131. Ashley Martinez, 32, and 132. Donald Owens, 36 on Oct. 7

Police were dispatched on a report of an armed party in the 6700 block of South Benton Ave. Officers located a man and a woman outside a residence who had been shot. EMS pronounced them both deceased.

130. Kameela Brown, 21, on Oct. 2

Officers responded to the 4400 block of Monroe Avenue on a shooting call. They located a woman who was pronounced dead on the scene.

129. James Fisher, 31, on Oct. 1

Kansas City police were called to the scene of a cutting reported in the 500 block of Gladstone Boulevard, in the Historic Northeast neighborhood. The victim died at the scene.

127. Camila Behrensen, 24, and 128. Pablo Guzmán Palma, 25, on Oct. 1

Police officers were called to the scene of a structure fire at an apartment just before 5 a.m. in the 4100 block of Oak Street. Firefighters found two trauma victims inside the building once the flames had been extinguished. Both victims were declared dead at the scene, police said.

126. Antwon Jones, 30, on Sept. 30

Jones was found fatally shot in an apartment at 9:45 a.m., in the 2700 block of Benton Boulevard, according to police.

125. Cortez Foster, 35, on Sept. 29

Kansas City police officers were summoned to the scene of a fatal shooting in the 6100 block of Tracy Avenue. One victim, an adult male, was found outside of a residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

124. William Bishop, 25, on Sept. 29

A man was found shot and killed about 10:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of East 46th Street in the city’s Vineyard neighborhood after neighbors called 911 to report gunshots.

122. Davon Bowden, 27, and 123. Desiree Bowden, infant, on Sept. 26

Bowden was found dead at a residence in the 2500 block of Hardesty Avenue, police said. A two-month-old girl was also shot and was in critical condition.

121. Maurice Brown, 48, on Sept. 26

Brown was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds just before 1:45 p.m. on the sidewalk near East 30th Street and Montgall Avenue, according to police.

120. Loretta Neal, 67, on Sept. 20

Officers were dispatched around 6:15 p.m. to the 3500 block of Cypress Avenue on a report of gunfire heard in the area. Responding officers were informed that a shooting had taken place there, and found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds outside of a residence. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

119. Charles R. Bass, 56, on Sept. 18

Police were called around 9:30 p.m. to an apartment in the 2900 block of Wabash Avenue in regard to an unresponsive person needing medical assistance. There they found a man dead inside the building. His death was later found to have been caused by a gunshot wound.

118. Rolland Catron, 50, on Sept. 11

Police were called in the evening to a homicide in the 7000 block of Jackson Avenue, police said. When they arrived, officers discovered a victim suffering from gun shot wounds and declared him dead at the scene.

116. Deshawn Dudley, 26, and 117. Dondre Hart, 20, on Sept. 5

Police officers were dispatched around 10:45 p.m. to a residence in the 7300 block of Manchester Avenue on a reported shooting. Three gunshot victims were found at the scene, including two men who were pronounced dead there. The third gunshot victim was taken away by ambulance and a fourth was later treated for injuries in the hospital after arriving there in a private vehicle.

115. Tristan Jeffery, 31, on Sept. 5

Police officers were dispatched around 6:15 p.m. to the intersection of 16th Street and Oakley Avenue on a reported shooting. As they were responding a second 911 call redirected them to apartments in the 5600 block of East 17th Street, where one gunshot victim was found inside a vehicle. That person died after being taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, a second gunshot victim believed to be injured during the same event arrived at a hospital by private vehicle.

114. William Muse, 54, on Sept. 1

Officers responded just before 8 a.m. to the 3000 block of Harrison Street, where they found a man with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical crews pronounced the man dead at the scene, Drake said.

113. Etienne McEwan, 50, on Aug. 31

Officers were dispatched around 1 a.m. to the 1700 block of Gillespie Place on a report of a shooting and a dead body. There they found an unresponsive male at the scene. It was not considered a suspicious event until homicide detectives were called to investigate, and a person of interest was taken into police custody.

112. Akil Collins, 48, on Aug. 29

Officers responded around 7:15 p.m. to a park near the 200 block of Wabash Avenue on a medical call. The person, who was walking through the park, saw the man on the ground just off the road and called for an ambulance. Emergency medical crews pronounced the man dead at the scene.

111. William Pearson, 29, on Aug. 23

Officers were called at about 9:10 p.m. to the 3300 block of Indiana Avenue where they were told a person was armed, said Capt. Leslie Foreman, a spokeswoman with the Kansas City Police Department. By the time police arrived on the block, the man was unresponsive on the ground with gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.

110. John Ritter, 45, on Aug. 23

Officers responded just after midnight to the area of St. John Avenue and Belmont Boulevard. At the scene, someone got their attention and directed police east of the area where a man had been shot. The man, who was unresponsive, was near a homeless encampment.Police started CPR until emergency medical crews arrived. Crews transported the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

109. Rahjee Byers, 24, on Aug. 22

Police responded just after 9 p.m. to the 5000 block of Olive Street and found a man inside a home who had been shot. Officers did CPR until emergency medical crews arrived. The crews took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

108. Marvin Williams, 38, on Aug. 21

Police arrived just before 4:30 p.m. to the 1300 block of East 89th Street, where they found a witness performing CPR on a man who had been shot. They continued life-saving measures, but soon, the man lying in the grass in front of a town home was declared dead.

107. John Greer, 23, on Aug. 19

Just after 8:30 p.m., police were called to a reported disturbance in the 3500 block of Wayne Avenue. Arriving officers found a gunshot victim there who was taken away from the scene by ambulance. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

106. Leslie Taylor, 57, on Aug. 18

Police were called around 7 p.m. to the 5200 block of Brooklyn Avenue on a reported shooting. Responding officers found a man there suffering from gunshot wounds and attempted life-saving measures. He was pronounced dead on scene. A person of interest was arrested that evening in connection with the killing.

105. Kevaun Hughes, 14, on Aug. 15

Just after 11:30 p.m., police were called to a shooting outside of a convenience store at 2640 Brooklyn. One victim was declared dead at the scene. A second shooting victim was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

104. Salvador Lopez, 56, on Aug. 15

A caller heard gunshots and saw a person down in front of a residence in the 2500 block of Elmwood. Officers found the man unresponsive and he was declared dead at the scene. There was no suspect information.

103. Myana Henderson, 21, on Aug. 13

Just before 10 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at a gas station at 1900 Independence Avenue. Police found two victims in the parking lot. A woman was declared dead at the scene by emergency medical crews. A man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

102. Billy Richardson, 60, on Aug. 12

Police officers were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. to the intersection of 60th Street and Agnes Avenue on a report of a person down. On arrival, they found a man dead outside in the area of a vacant lot. Kansas City police initially opened a suspicious death investigation and later determined the man was the victim of a homicide following a report by the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office.

101. Dejuan Henderson, 34, on Aug. 7

Kansas City police responded to a homicide just after 10 p.m. in the 9900 block of Walnut Street. Officers located a crime scene in a parking lot of an apartment complex and found a man who had been shot.

100. Zachary Garrand, 31, on Aug. 7

At about 9:45 p.m., Kansas City police officers were involved in a fatal shooting at a Phillips 66 gas station near East 55th Street and Prospect Avenue while investigating a stolen vehicle.

99. Warner Trotter, 41, on Aug. 7

Officers were called just after noon to the 3500 block of Garfield Avenue where they found a gunshot victim lying on the front porch of a home. He was declared dead at the hospital and a person of interest was taken into custody at the scene. Police said they believe the shooting may have stemmed from an argument between neighbors.

98. William Lowe, 44, on Aug. 6

Kansas City police responded to calls of a cutting at 4 p.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of East 49th Street, said Capt. Leslie Foreman, a spokeswoman with the department. When they arrived, officers discovered a man suffering from stab wounds in the stairwell of an apartment complex. He was transported to the hospital, where he died shortly after.

97. Johan Sarmiento-Perlata, 17, on Aug. 4

Officers were called around 11:15 p.m. to the 5000 block of East 8th Street for an unknown medical issue. Police found the teen suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on Aug. 6.

96. Mausheya Jackson, 28, on Aug. 4

Police were called to a shooting near the intersection of 50th Street and Wabash Ave. Officers found a vehicle with two gunshot victims inside one block west on Olive Street. Both women were unresponsive and taken by ambulance to a hospital. One died there roughly an hour later. The other gunshot victim suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

95. Matthew Douglas Jr., 28, on Aug. 2

Police officers were called around 7 a.m. to a reported shooting outside of a Kansas City apartment building in the 800 block of Grand Boulevard. A man with gunshot wounds was located at the front of the building and taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he died.

94. George Richards, 35, on Aug. 1

Kansas City officers were on patrol around 6 p.m. in the 5000 block of Bellefontaine Avenue when they came across a person down in the street. Officers found the man had been shot and was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

93. Luis Rodriguez, 44, on July 30

Officers responded just after 8 a.m. to a medical call in the 600 block of Cypress Avenue where a man was found inside a vehicle suffering from an apparent trauma. He was declared dead at the scene. His death was later ruled a homicide.

92. Aiden Ayers, 19, on July 25

Two people died in a “suspicious” two-alarm fire that was reported shortly before 4:30 a.m. at the Vivion Oaks apartments, 5056 North Oak Trafficway in Kansas City north. Ayers was identified as one of the victims and his death was ruled a homicide. The second victim has not been identified nor the manner of death.

91. Denzell D. Swan, 30, on July 24

Kansas City police responded to a “cutting” at an apartment at about 6:40 p.m. in the 2600 block of East 29th Street where they found a homicide victim mortally wounded. The 911 caller told police it sounded like the incident stemmed from an argument.

90. Rafael Avila-Mendez, 78, on July 23

Officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 10 p.m. in the 1900 block of Kansas Avenue. Police found an unresponsive man who had been shot, Foreman said. Emergency medical crews declared him dead.

89. Jourdan Thompson, 25, on July 23

Officers were called just before 6 p.m. to the area of Olive Street and East 37th Street on reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a vehicle at East 38th Street and Olive Street. She was unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.

88. Keith Cole, 55, on July 23

Police were called around 5 p.m. to the area of East 39th Street and South Benton Avenue on reports of gunshots. When officers arrived, they found a man lying near the sidewalk who was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was unresponsive and emergency medical crews declared him dead at the scene.

86. Jacob Payne, 19, and 87. Carlin Williams, 20, on July 17

Officers were dispatched on reports of gunshots around 5:45 a.m. to the 4100 block of East 59th Street. Police found one of the men shot and lying in a yard. Emergency medical crews pronounced him dead at the scene. Officers found another man who had been shot in the street. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

85. Shaira Hinton, 27, on July 17

Officers were called to the scene of a vehicle accident and shooting around 12:30 a.m. in the 8700 block of Sycamore Avenue. Police found a vehicle in the road with a woman in the driver’s seat. She had been shot and was unresponsive. Emergency medical crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

84. Marvin Yancey, 34, on July 16

Officers responded to a report of a car crash around 10:30 a.m. in the 8200 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard. Officers saw a vehicle off the side of the road that had struck a tree. The driver was slumped over and appeared to have been shot. He was declared dead at the scene.

83. Angel Rivera-Rodriguez, 32, on July 14

Officers responded to a shooting just after 2 a.m. in the 2600 block of Northeast 43rd Street, Kansas City Police Department Captain Leslie Foreman said. They found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds lying in the parking lot. Emergency medical crews pronounced the man dead at the scene.

82. Devin Cunningham, 19, on July 13

Police were dispatched around 3:45 p.m. to the shooting in the 200 block of West 100th Terrace, said Capt. Leslie Foreman, a department spokeswoman. Officers responding to the scene located the victim inside a unit and attempted life-saving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived, she said. The gunshot victim was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead there.

81. Cardell Crawford, 24, on July 10

Officers responded to a shooting around 11 p.m. outside the Westport Ale House restaurant and bar at 4128 Broadway Blvd., according to highway patrol. The patrol is investigating the shooting, which killed Crawford and injured five others, because it involved Kansas City police officers, said Sgt. Bill Lowe, a highway patrol spokesman.

The shooting began when a fight inside the bar moved outside. Three off-duty Kansas City police officers also started shooting after initial shots were fired, Lowe said.

80. Demarion Benjamin on July 7

Officers were called around 4:45 a.m. to East 51st and Lawn Avenue. They found a man suffering from trauma. Emergency medical crews pronounced him dead at the scene.

79. Sir Raheem Knox, 26, on July 6

Police responded just before 2 p.m. to a report of gunshots in the 4800 block of East 40th Terrace. Police located a shooting victim inside a residence. Emergency medical crews declared the person dead.

78. Carlos Martinez-Ramirez, 30, on July 4

Police responded to a homicide at about 6 p.m. in the 8900 block of Longview Road. There they found a man suffering from apparent trauma. He died at the hospital.

77. Carlo Enrique Collado, 18, on July 4

Police were called to the rear of a residence in the 5700 of Mersington Avenue where they found a man who appeared have been shot. Emergency crews declared the man dead.

76. Jai’Bryn Johnson, 18, on July 4

Police responded to Research Medical Center around 3:30 a.m. after someone dropped off Johnson at the hospital emergency room. Medical staff declared dead a short time later, said Sgt Jacob Becchina, a Kansas City Police Department spokesman.

75. I’lishia Richardson, 27, on July 3

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at midnight in the 10300 block of Spring Valley Road, where they found the woman shot and unresponsive inside a vehicle, Kansas City Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jacob Becchina said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

74. Sterling Simpson, 26, on June 26

Police officers were dispatched around 3:30 p.m. to the 5200 block of East 29th Street on a reported shooting. Officers found a gunshot victim on the ground who was unresponsive. Sterling Simpson was pronounced dead by medics at the crime scene.

Police were called around 8 p.m. to the Family Dollar at 8215 Troost Ave. on a reported disturbance within the store. As they were responding, officers received updated information relayed by dispatchers that a shooting had taken place. A man was found fatally shot outside the storefront. He was pronounced dead on scene by emergency medical personnel.

72. Kaitlyn Mahurin, 20, on June 20

Police responded to a shooting about 3:15 a.m. at a home in the 2600 block of Cypress Avenue. They found a woman inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

71. Floyd Helton, 65, on June 13

Officers responded just after noon to a shooting near 12th and Genessee streets and found the victim under an overpass. The man was suffering from a pair of gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

70. Thomas Floyd, 48, on June 12

Police responded about 3:45 a.m. to a shooting at the Crown Lodge at 8500 E. Missouri 350 highway. The victim had been in a confrontation with another person which escalated to an argument. During the altercation shots were fired, striking the victim, who died hours later at a hospital.

69. Rodrick Roland, 32, on June 7

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 6:30 p.m. on June 7 in the 2800 block of Van Brunt. When police arrived, they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries on June 15.

68. Charles Bradham, 54, on June 1

A woman called police shortly after noon saying that she had been shot at the Stadium View Apartments in the 4500 block of Colonial Terrace. Arriving officers found her suffering from gunshot wounds. They also found a man who had been shot and was unresponsive in an apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

67. Latefa Baker, 40, on May 29

Police responded to reports of shots being just after midnight Saturday along U.S. 71/Bruce R. Watkins Drive near Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard. Arriving officers found a vehicle stopped along the highway with a man and woman inside a vehicle who had been shot. The woman was unresponsive. Both victims were taken to a hospital where the woman was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

66. Dale White, 55, on May 28

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 5:30 a.m. May 28 in the 3200 block of East 8th Street. Police found a victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in a car. He was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of the injuries on June 9.

65. Elijah Flores, 39, on May 24

Police officers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. to a shooting in the 700 block of Ditman Avenue and were directed to a gunshot victim on the ground near the street. Early information from the investigation suggested there was some type of altercation before he was shot, police said. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

64. Rashan Stenson Jr., 17, on May 22

Officers responding to a shooting call about 2:20 p.m. near 79th Terrace and Campbell Street were directed to a victim who was lying unresponsive in the street. A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been talking with someone in a vehicle when an argument or disturbance erupted. Someone in the vehicle fire shots, striking the victim.

63. Christina Nevels, 36, on May 19

Officers at the Kansas City Police Department’s Central Patrol Division station heard gunshots outside the station. Officers went outside and discovered a vehicle had crashed into a neighboring apartment parking lot at 1224 Linwood Blvd. Police found a woman inside the vehicle who appeared to have been shot and was unresponsive. She was declared dead at the scene.

62. Quinton Dewberry, 23, on May 18

Officers responded to a shooting at 4:25 p.m. in the 3000 block of East 49th Street. Officers found a male in a black sedan who had been shot. Quintin Dewberry was unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.

61. Andreone Hall, 19, on May 17

Around 7:10 p.m. police officers responded to the sound of gunfire in the area of Linwood Boulevard and Indiana Avenue. There they found an active gunfight between a group of people. One was pronounced dead at the scene and three were taken into police custody as persons of interest.

60. Aaron Eichelberger, 42, on May 14

Officers were called to a shooting at about 11:15 p.m. in the area of East 88th Terrace and James A. Reed Road, where they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound in a vehicle. He was taken to the hospital where he died the following day.

59. Lamont A. Todd, 39, on May 12

Police were dispatched to a shooting in the 3400 block of Forest Ave. Todd was pronounced dead at the scene. A person of interest was taken into custody but police said the next day that the individual had been released.

58. Terylle Gorham, 31, on May 10

Shortly after 9 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call to the Swope Plaza Estates near 49th street and Bellefontaine Avenue. When they arrived they found Gorham in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

57. Maurice Boudreaux-Boone, 20, on May 6

Officers responded to a gunshots call just after 1 p.m. in the 3700 block of Wayne Avenue. As they were heading to the scene, the call was upgraded to a shooting. Officers found a man who was unresponsive in the front yard of a residence. Emergency medical personnel declared the man dead.

Just before 9 a.m., police responded to 2nd and Lydia Avenue on a report of a dead body. Police found a male and a female with apparent trauma in a wooded area off of railroad property. Emergency medical crews declared both of the victims dead.

Just before 11:30 p.m., police responded to the 8300 block of East Gregory Boulevard regarding a shooting. When officers arrived they found a person suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in front of a residence. The victim was transported to a local hospital but later died.

53. Marion Warden, 22, on May 5

Officers responded to reports of shots being fired just before 3 a.m. and found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds on the front porch of a home in the area of East 38th and Olive streets. Emergency medical crews pronounced the person dead at the scene.

52. Carlos Barnett, 24, on April 29

Officers with the Kansas City Police Department responded to a gunshots call at Ivanhoe Park, located near the intersection of East 43rd Street and Park Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man unresponsive at the park near the shelter house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

51. David Bynum, 40, on April 28

Officers were dispatched at 6:15 p.m. on April 21 to the 8100 block of Wayne on a shooting call. They discovered an injured man who was transported to the hospital. Police were told he succumbed to his injuries April 28.

50. William Jones, 25, on April 28

Police officers were dispatched around 4 p.m. to the Express Stop convenience store in the 3500 block of Independence Avenue on a reported shooting. Officers found two gunshot victims, both men, outside the store. One was declared dead at the scene and the other was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

49. Lanita Hart, 47, on April 22

Police responded to a reported injury accident about 10:20 p.m. at the Troost Mart gas station at 4047 Troost Avenue where they found Hart with “major injuries” to her head and “evidence of road rash about her body.” She was rushed to a hospital where she died days later. Detectives determined she had been a victim of an aggravated assault with a vehicle rather than an accident.

48. David Tate, 34, on April 23

Officers responded to a shooting about 8 p.m. Saturday and found Tate suffering from a gunshot wound inside a midtown apartment in the 4100 block of McGee Street. Officers tried to revive Tate but he was pronounced dead at the scene. A person of interest was taken into custody.

47. Deandre Davis, 35, on April 16

Officers were called just after 10:15 p.m. on April 16 to a shooting in the 4300 block of Hardesty Avenue, police said. There they found a man inside a home suffering from gunshot wounds, Drake said. The man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. He died the following morning.

46. Andre Stephens, 40, on April 16

Officers were called just after 10:30pm to the 7900 block of Longview Road on a reported shooting. There, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a home. He died at the hospital a short time later.

45. Jeremiah Foster, 36, on April 16

Officers were called just after 3:15 a.m. to the 8600 block of Newton Avenue after gunshots were heard. Officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, Drake said. The victim was declared dead at the scene. One person of interest was taken into custody.

44. Shawn Wiese, 55, on April 15

Officers were called at 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, to the 1500 block of Campbell Street. When they arrived, they found an adult man suffering from unknown injuries and transported him to the hospital. His death was ruled a homicide on Saturday.

43. Skylar Smith, 33, on April 15

Officers were called to the scene around 5 p.m. Friday and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds near the 3800 block of East Gregory. The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

42. Keith Gorham, 37, on April 13

Officers at a non-injury crash about 3:15 a.m. at East 38th Street and Wabash Avenue heard several gunshots. They determined the gunfire came from a nearby home where a house party was taking place. When they responded to the area, they found three victims close by. One victim was pronounced dead. A second victim was taken to a hospital and was in critical condition. The third had minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

Officers responding to a shooting around 8:30 p.m. found a man who had been shot inside a car in the parking lot of the Family Dollar near 39th Street and Indiana Avenue. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.

Officers responding to a shooting around 4 p.m. found the body of a woman who had been shot once just off the road near the intersection of 12th Street and Hardesty Avenue. She was declared dead at the scene.

39. Manuel Guzman, 14, on April 12

Police responded shortly after 9 a.m. to Northwest Middle School, 4904 Independence Avenue, where they found a male student who had been stabbed inside a school bathroom. Emergency medical crews took the student to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries where he died hours later. Another male student has been charged with first-degree murder in Jackson County Juvenile Court.

38. Creighton Goddard, 20, on April 10

Officers responded about 1:15 a.m. on reports of a shooting near Union Avenue and Mulberry Street and found two men on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to a hospital. Goddard later died.

37. Jeremiah Crow, 31, on April 4

Police were dispatched around 3 p.m. to the area of 5400 Michigan Avenue on a shots call. When officers arrived they were located to an apparent crime scene inside a residence. The victim was found inside a car on Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard near Agnes Avenue. The victim was transported to the hospital where they later died.

36. Marshall Ellis, 22, on March 29

Three victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds by Kansas City police within a few blocks of each other at around 9:25 p.m. The man was the third victim found. He was discovered unresponsive near the 2700 block of Topping Avenue and later pronounced dead.

35. Danny E. Scott, 52, on March 29

Police were dispatched around 11:45 a.m to Wheeling Avenue and East 8th Street on calls of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found a man unresponsive and transported him to an area hospital, where he died shortly after. KCPD are investigating.

34. Anthony Villarreal, 33, on March 25

Police were dispatched around 4 p.m. to the 2400 block of Quincy Street on a reported shooting, where they found Villarreal who had been shot. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he died.

33. Donell Cooper Jr., 38, on March 20

Officers responded to a call reporting that shots had been fired shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Place apartments near Blue Ridge Boulevard and Holiday Drive and were directed to the apartment’s parking lot where they found Cooper who was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

32. Kirk M. Whittaker, 34, on March 14

Police were dispatched around 1 p.m. to the 8100 block of Bannister Road on a reported shooting. Officers found an unresponsive man inside a car in the parking lot who was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead there.

31. John M. Sola, 45, on March 9

Police were dispatched to the 4100 block of Pittman Road after a 911 call was made for a person in need of emergency medical assistance. Officers arrived to find a man dead inside a residence there. The man suffered apparent injuries, police said, but the cause of his injuries was not immediately known.

30. Solana Sagun, 21, on March 6

Police were called to a shooting in the area of East 27th Street and Brooklyn Avenue at 1:57 p.m. A 911 call came two minutes later from one of the victims saying she and her friend had been shot by a man who was later accused of killing 21-year-old Solana Sagun and injuring her friend by shooting into their vehicle amid a dispute over Sagun’s missing cellphone and charger.

A woman was fatally shot just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the 11800 block of North Illinois Avenue, Kansas City police said. A person of interest was taken into custody by officers.

Kansas City police responded to a shooting at about 5:15 p.m. at East 24th Street and Hardesty Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot across the street at East 24th Street and Van Brunt Boulevard. The man was taken to an area hospital where he died.

27. Sheryl Turley, 38, on March 1

Kansas City police responded around 9:45 a.m. to the intersection of East 91st Street and Old Santa Fe Road after a railroad employee found the body near some train tracks west of the intersection. Turley was pronounced dead at the scene.

26. Sean Winston, 20, on Feb. 27

Kansas City police responded to a shooting at about 9:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of Northwest 85th Terrace. There they found a man in a residence who said he shot and killed an armed intruder.

25. Davonte Robinson, 18, on Feb. 22

Police were dispatched to a shooting around 5 p.m. in the 6300 block of East 101st. They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds who was transported to an area hospital. Officials said he was unable to survive without medical life support. A suspect was charged in March.

24. Way La Baw, 16, on Feb. 22

Police were dispatched to St. Luke’s Hospital after a juvenile teenager was taken there by private vehicle with critical injuries. The teen was pronounced dead by medical staff there. Investigators have since determined he was shot.

22. Ashley Pettiford, 31, and 23. Jermaine Jackson, 34, on Feb. 21

Police were called around 12:45 a.m. to a vehicle in a parking lot at Linwood Boulevard and Agnes Avenue on a triple shooting. Inside the vehicle police found a man and a woman fatally shot. A 5-year-old was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

21. Jeffrey Nemitz, 50, on Feb. 20

At around 2:55 a.m., officers responded to a crash at St. John Avenue and Benton Boulevard. The driver of a motorcycle went straight through the round about and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Jackson County Medical Examiner determined the victim had been shot.

20. Karvel Stevens, 6, on Feb. 15

Police responded to a disturbance in the 7300 block of Indiana Avenue. Officers forced entry into the residence based on exigent circumstances. Officers found a child beheaded. His mother was arrested at the scene.

19. Samuel Zamudio, 62, on Feb. 10

Police responded to a disturbance at apartments in the 4000 block of Willow Avenue where they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

18. Shawn W. Wilson, 36, on Feb. 7

Officers responding to a domestic disturbance involving a child shot and killed Wilson, who allegedly was holding a knife and approached officers. The police shooting occurred around 2:25 a.m. near 51st and Olive streets. Wilson died at the hospital from his injuries.

17. Eduardo Salazar, 22, on Feb. 7

Just after 2 a.m., two men arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds, police said. One of the men, Eduardo Salazar, died from his injuries. The second victim suffered serious injuries. Police believe they were shot in the 700 block of Spruce.

16. Deron L. Chrisman, 33, on Feb. 5

Police were called around 5:15 a.m. to the area of 40th and South Benton Avenue on a reported shooting. When officers arrived they found Deron L. Chrisman shot on the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were called around 9:30 p.m. to the area of East 17th Street and Crystal Avenue on a reported shooting. Arriving officers found Tilghman shot in a vehicle near a parking lot there. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

14. Dillion Simmons, 22, on Jan. 30

At about 4:15 a.m., police were called to the 3100 block of Elmwood Avenue on a shooting. There, they found a man inside a home suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

13. Keith A. Nevels, 44, on Jan. 29

Police were called at about 6:45 p.m. to the area of East 28th Street and Brooklyn Avenue on a shooting. There, at Spring Valley Park and Plaza, they found a man on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police initially said an altercation may have led up to the shooting.

12. Desmond J. Matthews, 17, on Jan. 27

Police officers were sent around 6:15 p.m. to the area of Van Brundt and Linwood boulevards on a reported shooting. A gunshot victim was found in the parking lot of a gas station there. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

11. Austin Michael Knowles-DeClements, 25, on Jan. 26

Police officers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. to the intersection of 10th and Olive streets on a call seeking medical assistance. A man was found shot dead in a vehicle there in the roadway.

10. Jenna L. Nava, 34, on Jan. 25

Police were called around 10 p.m. to a reported shooting at the Hudson Pointe Apartments in the 8800 block of Crystal Lane. Arriving officers entered an apartment there after they heard screaming and yelling and found a woman fatally shot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

9. Pebbles M. Harr, 44, on Jan. 25

Officers responding to a shooting about 12:30 a.m. found the victim on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound near St. John Avenue and Belmont Boulevard. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

8. Cornelius Flowers Jr., 37, on Jan. 22

At about 11:15 a.m., police were called to the 8000 block of Euclid Avenue on a “reported prowler.” The call was soon upgraded to a shooting. At the scene, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds behind a home. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

7. Ronnie Rhodes, 65, on Jan. 18

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Jan. 18, officers were called to a reported shooting at East 27th Street and Prospect Avenue, where they found a victim who appeared to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He died days later on Jan. 23, police said.

6. Bradley Hedrick, 41, on Jan. 17

At about 1:45 a.m., police were dispatched to East 12th Street and Topping Avenue on a crash where someone was reported to be injured. They found a man inside the vehicle, which had crashed off the side of the road. He was suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

5. Maurice Ball, 45, on Jan. 15

Officers were called just before 9:30 p.m. to the 1800 block of East 78th Street, near Hickman Mills Drive, on the sound of gunshots. There, they found a vehicle stopped in a yard. Inside a man who had been shot was unresponsive. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

4. Mackenzie Hopkins, 24, on Jan. 15

Officers were dispatched around 5:00 p.m. to the 7300 block of Wabash Avenue on a call to check the welfare of a person. Inside a residence there police found 24-year-old Mackenzie Hopkins dead in her bathtub, and her daughter severely injured in the bedroom. Hopkins’ killing was initially classified by police as a suspicious death investigation.

3. Brandon Creath, 34, on Jan. 6

Officers responded to a shooting at 2:30 p.m. to the 5700 block of Agnes Avenue, which is next to a park in the city’s North Town Fork Creek neighborhood. They found a male victim unresponsive in a vehicle. He was pronounced dead.

2. Tobias Wilson, two months, on Jan. 6

Tobias Wilson was discovered not breathing about 10:35 a.m. in the 4600 block of Northeast Winn Road. He was taken to a hospital where he later died. A doctor noticed a suspicious injury and his death was ruled a homicide on March 14.

1. Che Jefferson, 35, on Jan. 5

Officers responded to shots fired before 10:30 a.m. to the 3500 block of South Benton Avenue. Police believe an argument there ended when shots were fired, striking a man in his 40s. He got in a car and started driving south until he crashed into a pole and a handful of parked cars in the 3600 block of South Benton, police said. He had been on life support but later died.

KANSAS CITY, KANSAS

40. Unknown man on Dec. 30

A Kansas City, Kansas officer arrived to the scene and discovered a man’s vehicle abandoned. As the officer inspected the car, the man emerged from nearby woods and pointed a gun at the officer, according to Foreman. Then, the man jumped into the police car and began driving west on the parkway, she said. A chase ensued. Shortly after, the man stopped, exited the police car and then pointed a gun at police, who fired multiple shots at him. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Foreman said.

39. Amir Terry, 18, on Dec. 18

Officers responded just before 9:40 p.m. to the 4000 block of Lloyd Street where they took a person to the hospital with apparent gunshot wounds. The person later died of their injuries.

38. Samuel Nativadad, 23, on Dec. 9

Police received a call about a shooting shortly after 9 a.m. on Pacific Avenue just west of South 10th Street. Officers who were nearby, responded to the area and found a deceased man lying on the sidewalk. He had been shot.

37. Michael Edwards, 62, on Nov. 29

Police officers were dispatched around 1 p.m. to the 500 block of North 64th Street on a reported shooting. A man was found outside of a residence there with a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two suspects were arrested at the shooting scene, according to police.

36. Loren Flores, 23, on Nov. 21

Police officers were called around 12:20 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 1600 block of S. 52nd Terrace. One person was found dead and the suspected shooter was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene, police said.

35. Apolonio Enriquez, 38, on Nov. 13

Officers responded at 12:16 a.m. to an area near Kansas Avenue and Berger Avenue, where they found a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound inside a vehicle. The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

34. Hugo Corral-Velasco, 32, on Nov. 9

Police investigating a stolen vehicle discovered Hugo Corral-Velasco unresponsive inside a parked vehicle early in the morning near the 2700 block of Wood Avenue. Officers with protective shields attempted to contact him and he allegedly fired upon the officers. The officers returned fire and retreated. Corral-Velasco was pronounced dead.

33. Katron Harris, 17, on Oct. 31

Police officers were dispatched around 9 p.m. to a residence in the 1600 block of South 50th Street on a reported shooting. Seven gunshot victims were found at the scene, including a 17-year-old who was dead when police arrived. Detectives learned that the residence was hosting a large gathering for Halloween and that the suspected shooters opened fire on the house after being told to leave the party.

Police responded to a shooting about noon in the 400 block of Troup Avenue. Inside an apartment there, officers found Wilson dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

A person walking near a wooded area in the 4200 block of Kaw Drive found the body of Ottoniel Agustin-Chavez of Kansas City. Based on the results of an autopsy, his death was ruled a homicide.

Police were called around 5 p.m. to the 1500 block of Haskell on a reported shooting. Two gunshot victims were found dead outside of a residence when officers arrived.

27. Bruce Nelson, 25, on Aug. 14

Officers responded around 10 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 1300 block of Ray Avenue. When they arrived, they found a gunshot victim outside of a residence there, who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The man died after arriving there.

26. Unknown person on Aug. 8

Deputies with the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office were called around 7:30 p.m. to City Park on a reported shooting near North 32nd Street and Park Drive. A female was found deceased at the scene and a second victim, described as a juvenile, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officers responded to a reported shooting about 11:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of North 5th Street where they found two men who had been shot. One of the men died at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital with life threatening injuries.

Officers were dispatched at 2:41 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the 1700 block of Stewart Avenue, according to the police department. When officers arrived they found a man inside a house who had been shot. He was taken to an area hospital but later died.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 12:30 a.m. at a home in the 1700 block of North 58th Street. Arriving officers found the man dead inside a home and took a person of interest into custody.

22. Quayyim Jackson, 19, on July 6

Officers were dispatched at 7:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 1600 block of Birch Street and found a man about a block away in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Silver Court. He was taken to an area hospital, but died later that night.

21. Angel Chavira, 31, on June 21

Officers investigating a single vehicle crash about 6:30 p.m. under the 18th Street Expressway Bridge on Ruby Avenue found a man inside the vehicle who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police responding to a shooting at 9:25 p.m. in the 7300 block of State Avenue found a man outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

17. DeMonte Allen, 27, on May 8

Officers were called to a shooting shortly before 9 p.m. in the 200 block of North 27th Street. There, outside a home, police found a man dead from a gunshot wound.

16. Francisco Garcia-Aguirre, 47, on May 2

Police were called around 6 p.m. to the 1900 block of N. 73rd Terrace on a reported shooting. Outside of a building in the Brougham Estates apartment complex they found a man who had been shot and killed.

15. Michael A. Rehard, 33, on May 1

Police responded to an early morning shooting in the 200 block of North 6th Street. One person was found fatally wounded. Two other victims were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

14. Tiara Adams, 32, on April 30

In the evening, officers were called to a shooting in the 1800 block of North 26th Street. Two people were declared dead at the scene. One died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. A third victim, who was wounded, was taken to the hospital.

13. Anthony Weber, 25, on April 29

Officers responded to a shooting just after 1:30 p.m. on Friday at a residence near North 10th Street and Everett Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man who was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

12. Lisa McKeehan, 35, on April 12

Officers responding to a shooting just after 10:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Plaza Drive found a woman who had been shot. She was taken to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police were called around 4 p.m to the 6200 block of Webster Avenue on a reported shooting. A woman was found shot to death inside a car parked in the driveway of a residence on the block.

Officers were dispatched at 5:10 a.m. to the 5000 block of Oakland Avenue to assist emergency medical personnel. There they found a man who had been fatally stabbed. He died at the scene.

Police were dispatched around 2:46 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 3800 block of Leavenworth Road where they found a man inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital. A woman, described as a person of interest, was taken into police custody at the scene.

Police were dispatched to an apartment in the 2200 block of Birch Drive where they found two teenagers inside with gunshots wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 1600 block of Birch Street on a shooting where they found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were called to a shooting at about 10:30 p.m. to the 200 block of South 14th Street where they found a teenage boy inside the home who had been shot. He was declared dead at the scene.

4. Alec Byers, 24, on Jan. 23

Police were called at about 11:10 p.m. to James Street, near the Missouri state line, where they found a male who had been shot inside a vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene.

3. Tobias Hernandez, 42, on Jan. 22

Police were called at about 11:13 p.m. to the 1100 Block of South 47th Terrace where Hernandez was found lying in a driveway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.

2. Spencer Jones, 25, on Jan. 10

Police were called at about 5:06 p.m. to a shooting 900 block of South 74th Terrace. There, they found a male who had been fatally shot inside a home.

1. Roberto Antonio Alaniz, 41, on Jan. 10

Police responded to a shooting about 2:40 a.m. in a neighborhood on South 37th Street just south of Shawnee Drive where they found the body of a man inside a home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI

Police said a man was found shot around midnight at a home in the 800 block of East Pacific Avenue after someone called 911 to report a shooting. He later died at the hospital.

Officers were dispatched around 3:30 a.m. to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of South Brookside Avenue, where they found a deceased man inside a vehicle in the parking lot. The man appeared to have a gunshot wound.

Officers were dispatched at 2 a.m. to a residence in the 4600 block of South Brentwood Avenue, where they found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Independence Police Department.

Independence police officers were dispatched around 6:15 p.m. to the 1400 block of South Crane Street for a reported shooting inside a residence. A woman, Kathy McCarty, was found with two apparent gunshot wounds. Her boyfriend, Leslie D. Moore, 60, was charged in her killing.

14. Nicolett M. Marshall, 27, on Nov. 16

Callers told police that shots were being fired near one of the buildings in the Larkspur Pointe Apartments in the 16900 block of East Larkspur Lane. Arriving officers found Marshall, a mother of four, shot to death inside an apartment.

Police officers were dispatched around 8:15 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 800 block of North Park Avenue. A man was found dead inside a residence, and a person of interest was taken into police custody.

12. Anthony Santi, 41, on Oct. 7

Police officers were called around 2:30 p.m. to a reported shooting at the Road Star, 11100 E. U.S. 40 Highway. One gunshot victim was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead there. Two persons of interest were arrested at the shooting scene.

Independence police detectives are investigating after a person was found fatally shot at about 9:30 p.m. inside an apartment in the 3900 block of South Redwood Drive.

Two people died following a shooting around 8:15 p.m. near East 14th Street South and South Scott Avenue. Three people were taken into custody in relation to the shooting.

8. Khristian Wright, 18, on May 18

Officers responded to investigate the report of shots being fired shortly before 10 p.m. in the area of East 39th and South Lynn streets. Prior to arriving, police received a call saying there was a person lying on a sidewalk near 39th and South Pleasant Street. When officers arrived, they found Khristian Wright, 18, with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

7. George R. Dale, 51, on April 14

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. when shots were fired in the area of the 13800 block of East 35th Street South. Arriving officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside a car in the Cargo Largo parking lot. Another man was found with the victim. He informed police that the shooting occurred at an apartment complex across the street.

6. David J. Rowe, 32, on March 29

Police responded to a gas station at 4208 S. Noland Road and found Rowe, of Olathe, with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses told police that the person who fired the shots ran away to the north.

5. Trenton Faulkner, 33, on March 19

Police were called to a shooting at about 11:15 p.m. in the 10400 block of East Truman Road. The victim, who had been shot multiple times, died at the scene. One person was taken into custody.

4. Tyrea M. Pryor, 39, on March 11

Police were called to a disturbance in the 800 block of East College Street, where a police chase began. The car crashed near U.S. 24 Highway and Noland Road. Police fatally shot Pryor after they said he displayed an AR-style rifle.

3. Unknown juvenile on Feb. 8

Police were called to the 3300 block of South Sterling Avenue on a homicide. Further details were not immediately available. Police have not released the identity of the victim, since they are a juvenile.

2. Riley Youngblood, 23, on Jan. 25

Police were called on Jan. 20 to the intersection of U.S. Highway 40 and Valley View Road on a report of a person in possible need of medical assistance. Officers found a gunshot victim in a parked vehicle there around 8 a.m. The victim died in a hospital five days later.

1. Timothy Phillips, 38, on Jan. 13

Police were called to scene of a shooting in the 300 Block of North Leslie Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Phillips outside of a residence. He had been shot and was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. He died a few days later. A suspect is in custody.

LEE’S SUMMIT, MISSOURI

6. Robert Hamilton, 52, on Aug. 31

Officers were dispatched to a report of a dead body inside a residence around 9:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of S.W. Arborfair Drive. Police found 52-year-old Robert Hamilton deceased, and his death was found by Jackson County medical examiners to be caused by a gunshot wound to the head at close range. His 23-year-old son was charged with murder in the killing.

4. Jennifer Trenchard, 38, and 5. David Trenchard, 33, on June 9

Officers responded around 2:57 p.m. to a report of a shooting near the 1200 block of Northeast Oakwood Drive. Two people were found dead and a third was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police allege the victims were shot by their father, who then shot himself.

3. TreVez F. Johnson, 17, on April 1

Officers responded around 9:10 p.m. to a report of a shooting on Interstate 470 near Lakewood Boulevard. A person was found dead of apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle parked on the inside shoulder of the highway.

2. Zavion Miles, 22, on March 8

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance involving gunfire around 1 a.m. near Northeast Chinquapin Court and Lacewood Court, which is south of Lakewood Lakes. Arriving officers found a male victim dead inside a home.

1. Richie T. Aaron Jr., 30, on Jan. 14

Police were called at about 9:15 p.m. to the Amtrak station in Independence where they found Richie T. Aaron Jr., of Independence, who had been shot while the train was stopped at the Lee’s Summit station near 3rd and Main. He was declared dead at the scene.

RAYTOWN, MISSOURI

7. Melissa Lucker, 41, on Oct. 31

Police officers were dispatched around 8:05 p.m. to 87th Street and Ash Avenue on a report of a woman in the roadway believed to have been struck by a hit-and-run driver. Homicide investigators later learned the woman had been shot.

5. Xavion McKinzey, 18, and 6. Jabari Ellis, 18, on Aug. 17

Two teenagers were killed in a double shooting just after noon in the 8700 block of James A Reed Road, police said. A suspect surrendered to police later that day.

4. Unknown woman on Aug. 4

Officers responded shortly before 7 p.m. to investigate a report that a person had been stabbed in the area of Edgewood Manor Health Care Center at 11900 Jessica Lane. Officers found the victim with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to a hospital where she died.

3. Timothy Grigsby, 32, on June 6

A person called police around 12:40 a.m. to report a body burning on the ground next to Raytown Road between Longview Road and Longview Parkway, on the west side of Longview Lake. Kansas City police responded to the scene. Investigators later determined the homicide occurred in Raytown, and the case was transferred to Raytown police.

2. Lee O. Lott, 50, on Jan. 20

Police were dispatched around 4 p.m. to the 7600 block of Arlington Avenue after person called to report a murder-suicide witnessed inside a residence there. Officers arrived to find two men dead from gunshot wounds.

1. Zackiery Lister, 20, on Jan. 19

Police were called around 10 a.m. to the 9200 block of East 54th Terrace after a report was received by a person saying he had killed someone in his home. Officers found Zackiery Lister dead of apparent knife wounds. His roommate is charged with second-degree murder in the killing.

SHAWNEE, KANSAS

2. Jarod C. Rogers, 25, on Dec. 2

Police officers were called to the 11000 block of Johnson Drive to check the welfare of a person on Nov. 30. A gunshot victim was found in a parking lot and taken to the hospital with critical injuries. He died in the hospital.

1. Kathleen J. Dampier, 25, on Sept. 18

Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 7400 block of Flint Street on a report of a medical emergency. An officer heard the sound of gunfire coming from an apartment building there and a woman was found inside with apparent gunshot wounds. Two persons of interest were taken into police custody at the scene.

LENEXA, KANSAS

1. John M. Williamson, 20, and 2. Sara Beck, 22, on Feb. 27

At about 1:20 a.m., Lenexa police found three people with gunshot wounds inside a home in the 8400 block of Laurelwood Street. One person was declared dead at the scene. The other two were taken to the hospital where they later died. One of those injured was later identified as a man who shot two victims inside the residence and then committed suicide.

MERRIAM, KANSAS

2. Charles Thomas Dillon, 23, on Oct. 21

Police were called to a disturbance at about 11 p.m. in the 7300 block of Royalty Way where they found Dillon, who had been stabbed. He was declared dead at the scene.

1. Rodney N. Winston Jr., 26, on March 27

Police officers were called around 5 a.m. to the 9800 block of West 52nd Street on a reported shooting. A man was found inside a residence there with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS

5. Shaquille Jackson, 26, on July 31

Officers responded to a shooting shortly after 4:20 p.m. Sunday at the BP gas station at Antioch Road and College Boulevard and found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

4. Donna Mayfield, 87, on June 23

Overland Park police officers were dispatched around 9:15 a.m. to a shooting in the 8400 block of England Street. Frank and Donna Mayfield, husband and wife, were found dead of gunshot wounds when officers arrived. Police have said Frank Mayfield, also 87, called to police report that his wife had been shot. Police were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.

2. and 3. Members of the Hill family on April 7

Police responded about 10 a.m. to a home in the 900 block of Nieman Road to help a family member with a welfare check who had been trying to contact three family members but was not successful. When officers entered they found Johnnie Hill, 71, Susan Hill, 64, and Desiree Hill, 34, were found dead along with a family dog. Police believe it was a possible murder-suicide.

1. Cheryl “Sharell” Holloman, 46, of Wichita on March 20

Police responded to a shooting around 6 a.m. in the 9700 block of West 145th Terrace. Prior to officers arriving, family members had taken Holloman to a hospital where she later died. The house where the shooting occurred is a vacation rental. A party, that included friends and relatives, was taking place at the time of the shooting.

MISSION

1. Unknown male, 16, on April 10

Police responded to reports of a double shooting about 8:50 p.m. at the Silverwood Apartments in the 500 block of Foxridge Drive. Arriving officers found a 16-year-old boy dead from gunshot wounds. A 13-year-old girl was also injured in the shooting and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Metro Squad was activated to investigate the killing.

OLATHE

2. Daniel Ward, 29, on July 30

Police officers were called in response to a medical issue at a residence in the 1200 block of North Purdom Street. A man was found there unresponsive from a head injury, which was later determined to be a gunshot wound.

1. Marco Cardino, 19, on May 14

Officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. to Black Bob Park at 14500 W. 151st Street to investigate the sound of shots being fired. Arriving officers found a 19-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

PLATTE COUNTY

2. Taylor Hawkins, 31, on June 28

Platte County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a reported shooting around 7:42 p.m. in the 28000 block of Oberdeik Lane. Deputies found a 31-year-old man shot dead in the front yard of a residence there. The sheriff’s department was seeking a 22-year-old woman and 32-year-old man, considered armed and dangerous, in connection with the killing.

1. Mekiah D. Harris, 26, on May 4

Kansas City police and a Missouri Highway Patrol trooper fatally shot Harris during a standoff in the backyard of a home near Northwest 132nd Street and Running Horse Road. He had led police on on a chase that reached over 100 mph and went the wrong way on Interstate 435 before being killed in the police shooting. Harris was a suspect in a fatal shooting outside of Sammy’s Tavern in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas.

Blue Springs

3. Unknown 15-year-old boy on Oct. 15

Officers responded around 6:40 p.m. to a shooting the 600 block of Northeast Jefferson Street where they found a 15-year-old boy dead, the police department said in a statement. Another person, who was injured, was taken to a hospital.

2. Gregory Ultican, 61, on Sept. 29

Police officers responded around 3:45 a.m. to a home in the 600 block of S.W. 17th Street on a reported shooting. On scene officers were told by a resident that Jeffrey Ultican had shot Greg Ultican, two men authorities learned were cousins.

1. Michael D. Saunders, 28, on Aug. 23

Officers with the Blue Springs Police Department fatally shot a man near Northeast Sunnyside School Road and Northeast R D Mize Road. Authorities at the scene said the man was armed and shot at officers before he was killed.

Excelsior Springs

2. Carl J. Carrell, 64, on Oct. 1

Carrell died after police said he shot an Excelsior Springs officer and was then fatally shot in the head by another officer as they were trying to pull him over for a warrant at Crown Hill Road and Kearney Road, authorities said.

1. Theresa Bass, 44, on Sept. 7

Officers were dispatched around 12:11 a.m. to the 700 block of Main Street for a shooting. There they found Theresa Bass bleeding on the front porch. At the open front door they found Bobby Neal Jr. with gunshot wounds, including one to his face. Bass did not survive. Clay County prosecutors later charged 48-year-old Keith Bass with first-degree murder for allegedly killing his wife and critically wounding Neal.

Grandview

1. Orson Roth III, 34, on Oct. 12

Police were called at about 5:20 p.m. to a call of shots fired at O’Donnell Park, a Jackson County park, at 13500 Kurzwell Road. There they found Roth mortally wounded. Another man who had also been shot was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. No suspects were immediately identified.

Grain Valley

1. Unknown person on Oct. 19

Police officers were dispatched around 1 p.m. to a reported shooting near Sawgrass Drive and Scenic Lane. One person was found dead there.
