Woman dies at hospital after being stabbed multiple times in Raytown

A woman died at a hospital after being stabbed multiple times Thursday evening near a nursing home in Raytown, police said in a post on Facebook.

Officers responded shortly before 7 p.m. to investigate a report that a person had been stabbed in the area of Edgewood Manor Health Care Center at 11900 Jessica Lane, police said.

Arriving officers found a woman who had multiple apparent stab wounds. She was taken in critical condition to a hospital where she died from her injuries.

No one was in custody, police said. No suspect information was released.

The killing is the fourth homicide of the year for Raytown, according to data tracked by The Star. By this time last year, the city had five homicides.
