Winter storm hits Kansas City
Another round of winter weather has arrived in Kansas City, bringing with it ice, snow and wind gusts up to 35 mph. The storm has caused slick roads as well as school and office closures.

A winter storm that is moving through the Kansas City region has made travel in the metro dangerous and in some areas impossible as crashes and stranded vehicle are piling up.
“We need your help!” the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Kansas City said on Twitter. “Our crews are having difficulties clearing roadways due to crashes and stranded vehicles. We need a clear path to clear a path for motorists.”
The message included a photo urging drivers to stay home or in the alternative to at least delay their commute.
One particular trouble spot was along northbound Interstate 29 in Kansas City’s Northland where the highway was closed for a while. Traffic was at a standstill on the popular route to Kansas City International Airport.
Parts of Interstate 35 in the Northland were also experiencing considerable delays because of the weather, including the ramp from southbound I-35 to I-435 near Pleasant Valley.
