Legalized recreational marijuana in Missouri
Voters in Missouri will decide in November whether to legalize adult recreational marijuana use, paving the way for Missouri to potentially become the 20th state to legalize and tax the drug.

Missouri voters will have a question on the November ballot that would change the state constitution to legalize adult recreational marijuana use. The vote could make Missouri the 20th state to legalize and tax the drug.
The ballot initiative was officially certified by the Missouri Secretary of State on Tuesday.
Missouri already permits the use and sale of medical marijuana, after voters chose to amend the state constitution in 2018.
This new amendment to the state constitution would build on that by removing bans on marijuana sales, consumption and manufacturing for adults over the age of 21. And, it would automatically expunge the records of people who were previously charged with nonviolent marijuana offenses.
