▪ Flip’d by IHOP, 4661 Bauer Farm Drive, Lawrence. The first location to open in the country.

▪ Cafe Europa Gourmet Market & Bakery plans to relocate to the south Plaza area later this year and add a Leawood location in early February.
▪ 54th Street Grill & Bar, Zona Rosa, 7200 N.W. 86th Terrace, is rebranding to 54th Street Restaurant & Drafthouse and expanding with an outdoor entertainment area. Work is expected to be completed by early December.
▪ Jousting Pigs BBQ in Liberty took the former Arthur Bryant’s space, at 1702 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas, in the Legends Outlets Kansas City.
▪ Meat Mitch Barbecue, Ranch Mart Shopping Center, 3600 W. 95th St., Leawood. Mid-November opening.
▪ Wichita’s Meddys Mediterranean Eatery & Craft Bar plans to open at 4105 W. 83rd St. in Prairie Village later this year.
▪ Plate restaurant in East Brookside plans to open in Leawood’s Park Place, 11655 Ash St., in early winter.
▪ Prime Social rooftop lounge, 46 Penn Centre, 4622 Pennsylvania Ave. Mid- to late November opening. Then Ocean Prime Restaurant will join it in early 2022.
▪ The metro’s first Taco Bell Cantina has a permit for a building at 4111 Broadway in Westport. A Taco Bell Cantina sign is now on the door but the chain would not confirm the location.
▪ Whataburger is opening in Blue Springs, Independence, Lee’s Summit and Overland Park later this year. Independence or Lee’s Summit will open first in the fall.
