KC-area restaurant, brewery updates for May during COVID-19: What’s open, closed

Every month we run a long list of restaurant and brewery openings, closings and what will be coming soon.

This month’s list comes as COVID-19 orders are softening and the industry is attempting to recover. The two-month shutdown due to the pandemic has upended restaurants and pushed back many openings for weeks and even months.

In some cases the restaurants may drop their plans for new locations or may not open. They are taking a step back and seeing if consumers will be dining out in numbers again.

Here’s a list of some operations that have opened in recent weeks for drive-thru, take-out or curbside service and are now gearing up for dine-in. And this report also includes some eateries that won’t be reopening.
