For Pete's Sake

Reported wedding date could be sign of Travis Kelce’s future plans with Chiefs

Barring a change to how this season is progressing, the Chiefs probably won’t qualify for the postseason field.

If you’re the type of person eager to look ahead, the Chiefs likely will have a mandatory minicamp in mid-June next year. Earlier this year, the Chiefs’ camp was June 17-19.

And it was held June 11-13 in 2024 and June 13-15 in 2023.

Those dates are important to note, because that’s around the time when Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and fiancée, superstar singer Taylor Swift, are expected to get married.

That’s according to the New York Post, which reported Swift and Kelce will tie the knot on June 13.

While that date was no doubt chosen because Swift’s favorite number is 13, it’s also significant because it could be a signal as to Kelce’s future with the Chiefs.

Kelce, who is in his 13th season with the Chiefs, is in the final season of his contract, but he’s steadfastly claimed he has not ruled out playing again in 2026.

But Kelce is not the type to miss a Chiefs mandatory minicamp, and he had to know that it likely will be held in mid-June. Perhaps he’s already made up his mind about his football future and the wedding date is an indication of that.
