New York City mayor spilled the beans about Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift wedding
Planning a wedding is no easy task but imagine doing it amid rampant speculation about where and when the nuptials will take place.
That’s been the case for Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his fiancée, singing sensation Taylor Swift.
First, the gossip sites thought the wedding would take place June 13 in Rhode Island, but that was debunked. Now the conventional thinking is the couple will tie the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.
But that may not be right.
However, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani seemed to confirm the date during a news conference Monday. Mamdani was asked about a July 5 World Cup match at MetLife Stadium.
“I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience,” Mamdani said, per Page Six.
“We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks’ (NBA) Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”
The mayor either accidentally or purposefully spilled the beans about at least part of the Kelce-Swift wedding being in New York during the Fourth of July weekend.
TMZ reported a massive stage is being built for the Madison Square Garden.
“Our sources say the stage is being built at a campus called Rock Lititz in Lititz, Pennsylvania,” TMZ reported. “It’s a massive facility where bands often rehearse before going on tour. It’s also where stages for various tours are constructed.”
But the celebrity site also shared new details about the wedding. It believes the Madison Square Garden only will be the site of the reception.
That story said: “It is increasingly looking like MSG will be the venue for the wedding celebration, but not the wedding itself. Several guests tell TMZ ... they believe the wedding will take place before the July 3rd MSG event, and the guest list is much smaller than the list of over 1,000 MSG-invitees.”
A smaller wedding ceremony and a larger reception would seem to make sense.
