Eagles coach Nick Sirianni made a lasting impression on Kansas City fans the last time Philadelphia played the Chiefs.
It wasn’t a good one.
After the Eagles beat the Chiefs 21-17 on Nov. 20, 2023, Sirianni walked up the tunnel at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and screamed a message for fans.
“Hey! I don’t hear your (crap) anymore, Chiefs fans!” Sirianni barked. “See yaaaaaaa!”
Video of that moment quickly went viral.
When asked about it later that week, Sirianni wasn’t contrite.
“Yeah, you know, emotions run high in games,” Sirianni later told NBC Philadelphia. “I give it to the Kansas City fans. They were rowdy. They had some good things to say coming in at halftime. They had some good things to say when they would score. I don’t hear fans all that often. I did in this game. I definitely heard them at halftime.
“I give them credit. They aren’t Philly fans. They’re not as good as Philly fans, but I definitely heard a couple things they were saying in the game.”
Ahead of the Chiefs-Eagles matchup in Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome, Sirianni was asked about that moment at Arrowhead.
“You know, this is an emotional game, and you know sometimes your emotions, I wouldn’t say get the best of you, but you show your emotion,” Sirianni said. “I think one thing that I’ve never really been shy about is being myself and being who I am.
“I think if you’re not the person that you are, and you’re trying to lead men, that they’ll see through that moment. And so, you know, sometimes you get more emotions in certain times than others.”
