Man dead following shooting in Raytown Saturday night, police say

Update: Police on Sunday afternoon identified the victim as Jeremiah Plowden, 31, of Kansas City.

A man is dead following a shooting Saturday night in Raytown, according to police.

Officers responded around 9:50 p.m. to 67th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard on reports of a two-vehicle collision, the Raytown Police Department said in a news release.

They found a man dead with an apparent gunshot wound. No suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

The incident was the second homicide in Raytown this year, according to data tracked by The Star. At this time last year, there had been three killings.
