Two dead in overnight shooting in Kansas City, Kansas, police say
Two men are dead after a shooting in Kansas City, Kansas, Friday night.
In a news release Saturday morning, the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department said officers were called to the 1800 block of North 31st Street just before 10 p.m. Friday.
When officers arrived, the release said, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds in an alley east of 31st Street. A man in his 50s was found dead. A man in his 20s was brought to the hospital where he died from his injuries Saturday morning.
Police said Saturday morning that they believe the men were shooting at one another for unknown reasons and no one else was involved in the shooting.
Police have not yet released the men’s names.
The shooting is the 33rd and 34th homicide in Kansas City, Kansas, this year according to data kept by The Star, which includes fatal police shootings. There had been 22 by this time last year.
