Kansas City man charged with murder in fatal shooting Sunday on The Paseo

A Kansas City man has been charged in a fatal shooting Sunday in the 4900 block of The Paseo.

Darryl Price, 38, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday.

Just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the sound of gunshots and found a man deceased in the garage.

The victim was identified as Andrew Dickie, 35.

Before the shooting two men got out of a vehicle and had a short interaction with Dickie, police said.

According to prosecutors, surveillance videos show Price was a passenger in a yellow Chevrolet Camaro that pulled into the driveway. He allegedly exited the vehicle armed with a long gun and pointed it towards the garage, which was out of view of the camera.

The video shows two men running back to the Camaro.

Shotspotter sensors captured the sound of two firearms being fired simultaneously.

Price was arrested Wednesday. During an interview with police, Price said he was at the scene but that he only pointed the rifle while another suspect shot the victim, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 bond.

Court records did not list a defense attorney for Price.
