The pieces, selected from among more than 1,900 submissions, are meant to represent Kansas City and its history. The goal: to make the airport feel like the living room of Kansas City.

While work continues on the new terminal at Kansas City International Airport, The Star got a first look at 28 art installations travelers will encounter there.

The pieces, selected from among more than 1,900 submissions, include paintings, sculptures and works in other media.

On Wednesday, The Star featured 10 selected works for a closer look. Vote in our poll to choose your favorite.

Many of the works are still being created and are represented by an artist’s rendering of the concept. The final work may look different.

This is not a scientific poll. The poll will close May 4.
