People and supporters of a 50-tent homeless camp, set up on the south lawn of City Hall in February, waited to see if Kansas City officials were going to “sweep” or remove the camp from the grounds on Monday afternoon. In recent months, public protests have called for Kansas City to find better, long-term solutions to housing the city’s approximate 2,000 people without homes. Another homeless camp, Camp 6ixx, located at Westport Road and Southwest Trafficway, was also fearing a “sweep.”
