Restaurant reservation and review website OpenTable says these restaurants and bars should be on visitors’ radars when they come to Kansas City for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

OpenTable’s latest ranking includes 11 spots, ranging from areas by the Country Club Plaza to the Power & Light District and Union Station, which is near the site of the World Cup Fan Fest on the lawn outside The National World War I Museum and Memorial.

“Home to one of America’s most fiercely debated barbecue traditions, a thriving steakhouse scene, and a restaurant community that punches well above the city’s weight, KC has long been a serious dining destination for those in the know,” OpenTable said in the ranking. “Now, with Kansas City stadium confirmed as a host venue for the 2026 summer of soccer, the city is preparing to welcome the world — and its food and drink scene is more than ready for the occasion.”

Their guide says it includes the best restaurants near the action, patios for international soccer and watch party locations for the global tournament’s biggest moments. Here’s a look at what OpenTable highlights for the summer.

Where soccer fans should visit in Kansas City this summer according to OpenTable

OpenTable’s recommendations do not stray far from city limits. Six of the 11 spots chosen have locations near the Country Club Plaza, and only one is set in Kansas, located in Overland Park. Three are also national chains:

Each restaurant and bar selected has a combined user review rating of over 4 stars. Places like 801 Chophouse were selected for potential pre-match dinners and post-game celebrations, while a spot like Fogo de Chão’s Brazilian roots made it a must for visitors, according to OpenTable.

The Westside Local and Fern Bar were highlighted for their neighborhood atmospheres, and Pierpont’s location inside Union Station makes it a standout destination since it’s a 10-minute walk away from the fan fest.
