Tickets go on sale this week for Big Slick Celebrity Weekend’s return to Kansas City after the pandemic forced it online the past two years.
Kansas City’s homegrown Hollywood royalty — Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Eric Stonestreet, Rob Riggle and David Koechner — and a gaggle of their celebrity friends will participate in two events in June.
They’ll play in the Big Slick Celebrity Classic softball game at Kauffman Stadium at 5 p.m. Friday, June 24, and — in the weekend’s main event — entertain at the Big Slick Party & Show at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the T-Mobile Center downtown.
The names of the celebrity pals they’ll bring to town are under wraps until later this spring. But in the past, Will Ferrell, Selena Gomez and a bunch of Johns — Jon Hamm, John Oliver, Johnny Knoxville — have come to help raise money for Children’s Mercy.
Here are the ticket details:
Pre-sale tickets for the T-Mobile Center show go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, only for Big Slick insiders/email subscribers. You can sign up at bigslickkc.org.
Those tickets range from $75 for standard lower level to $250-$375 for upgraded seats with Founder’s Club access, including drink tickets or open bar.
A limited number of VIP meet-and-greet tickets will be available, too, so you can congratulate Sudeikis for his “Ted Lasso” Emmy wins. Subscribers will get purchasing instructions via email.
Other VIP experiences available: $1,000 Hall of Fame Suite tickets (for the Friday night softball game at The K) and $2,000 VIP Pre-Party access plus upgraded seating tickets for the T-Mobile show.
And, for $5,000 a person, you can attend a cocktail party with the celebrities — maybe meet Stonestreet’s fiancee? — at a private home on Thursday, June 23.
Tickets for the general public to the show, including any remaining VIP tickets, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, at bigslickkc.org. They can also be purchased at T-MobileCenter.com.
Anyone who buys a ticket to the Kansas City Royals game June 24 against the Oakland A’s can watch the celebrity softball game beforehand for free.
One change: Saturday morning will no longer feature a bowling tournament, red carpet arrival and block party at Prairiefire in Overland Park.
Riggle, Rudd and Sudeikis, who all grew up in Overland Park, started Big Slick in 2010 as a celebrity poker tournament to raise money for pediatric cancer research at Children’s Mercy. Eric Stonestreet, of Kansas City, Kansas, and David Koechner, of Tipton, Missouri, joined as co-hosts in 2014.
The event has donated more than $13 million to the hospital.
