Nine-time Grammy winner and Missouri native Sheryl Crow will make her first appearance as a guest at the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend fundraiser next week.

Crow will perform at the Big Slick Party & Show at the T-Mobile Center on Saturday, June 25, organizers announced Wednesday.

She is among about 30 TV and movie stars, comedians, musicians — and one WWE wrestler — coming to Kansas City to help raise money for Children’s Mercy hospital.

The annual event, in its 13th year, is hosted by Kansas City’s own Hollywood royalty — Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Rob Riggle, Eric Stonestreet and David Koechner.

The documentary “Sheryl,” about the otherwise private singer, who is 60, debuted on Showtime last month, detailing her nearly 30 years in the music industry that began with her playing piano scales in her hometown of Kennett, Missouri, and led to a multi-platinum album career.

Along the way she toured with Michael Jackson — she accuses his manager of sexually harassing her — dated some high-profile men including disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong, and fought breast cancer and depression.

In an interview on “Good Morning America” last month she said she decided it was time to reveal the woman behind the award-winning hits.

“I think being my age now, it feels a little bit like a privilege and an honor to be able to sit down and say, people who are very visible and who are doing high profile work, they’re still people at the end of the day,” she said.

“We are pretty harsh about tearing people down. And if people only think that I’m the girl that did ‘All I Want to Do’ and ‘Soak Up the Sun,’ there’s a whole world of living that goes behind wanting to even write songs. And generally the songs that tell the story aren’t the ones that get played on the radio.”

She talked about her new single,”Forever,” which was inspired by her two sons, one of whom is into sports and the other belongs to a fishing team at school in Nashville.

“The song is inspired by how much stress our kids experience, stress i didn’t have,” she told the “GMA” hosts. “They’re so tapped into what’s happening in the world and social media’s always coming at them.

“To just be able to say to your kids, every moment of your life is a gift and don’t be tapped into anything that is telling you untruths about who you are.”

Crow has long been involved in philanthropy work, including Sandy Hook Promise, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Elton John Aids Foundation, Rock the Vote and Habitat for Humanity.

Big Slick organizers are continuing to reveal celebrity guests. The list already includes “Saturday Night Live” star Heidi Gardner (from Kansas City); actors Adam Scott, James Van Der Beek and Gary Anthony Williams; musician David Cook (from Blue Springs) and wrestler Happy Corbin (from Lenexa).

Events this year feature:

The Big Slick Celebrity Classic softball game at 5 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Kauffman Stadium. Anyone who buys a ticket to the Kansas City Royals game that night against the Oakland A’s can watch the celebrity softball game beforehand for free.

The Big Slick Party & Show at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the T-Mobile Center downtown. Tickets range from $75 for standard lower level to $250-$375 for upgraded seats with Founder’s Club access, including drink tickets or open bar. They’re available at bigslickkc.org and T-MobileCenter.com.

Crow is making the special appearance a month before she performs July 21 at GrindersKC (tickets are $75-$99).
