Updated: 11 KC beer fests on tap for 2016
Local beer lovers have a busy spring and summer ahead.
In honor of National Beer Day on April 7, we compiled a list of 11 upcoming Kansas City beer festivals that includes brew-centric events in Westport, Waldo, the West Bottoms and even Worlds of Fun. Crack a frosty IPA and dive in.
All American Barbeque & Brew Festival
What: Worlds of Fun’s annual beer festival features tastings from six regional breweries, including KC Bier Co. and Nebraska Brewing Co., which set up stations throughout the park. Ticketholders also get access to barbecue by executive chef Kevin Williams.
When: On weekends in late April and early May. Official dates are April 22, 23, 24, 29 and 30 and May 1, 6, 7 and 8. Hours are TBD.
Where: Worlds of Fun, 4545 Worlds of Fun Ave.
How much: Tickets cost $59.99 in advance and come with admission to the theme park. Gold or platinum season pass-holders can buy discounted tickets for $20.

Parkville Microbrew Festival
What: One of the region’s longest-running craft beer fests is back for its 13th year in Parkville, a river town about 11 miles northwest of Kansas City. More than 50 breweries will attend the festival, which also features live music and food trucks.
When: 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 30
Where: English Landing Park, 8701 Clark Ave. in Parkville
How much: General admission tickets are $35 in advance or $45 at the gate.

Kansas City on Tap
What: More than 100 beers from 50 breweries will be on tap at this event organized by America on Tap, a company that organizes beer fests across the country. Entertainment includes live music from the Suburbans, games, vendors and food trucks.
When: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, May 7
Where: Berkley Riverfront Park, 900 River Front Road
How much: Standard tickets cost $45; VIP tickets cost $60 and include early entry at 1 p.m., a T-shirt and a food voucher.

Waldo Hopfest
What: An annual outdoor beer festival in a tented beer garden near the Well in the Waldo neighborhood. Hopfest features more than 250 beers from 50 local and international breweries, plus food trucks.
When: 2-6 p.m. Saturday, May 21
Where: 74th and Wornall
How much: General admission tickets cost $30 in advance or $35 at the door. VIP tickets cost $50 in advance or $55 at the door and include early entry at 1 p.m., plus access to special tastings.

Get Ripped Brew Fest
What: Big Rip Brewing Co. will celebrate its 3rd birthday with a festival featuring 16 local breweries and distilleries, plus live music.
When: Noon-4 p.m. Saturday, June 4
Where: 216 East 9th Ave. in North Kansas City
How much: Tickets cost $30 until May 15, when the price jumps to $35

Kansas City Microbrews and BBQ Festival
What: A laid-back beer and ’cue tasting event on the grounds of the Kansas City Museum in Northeast Kansas City. Ticketholders get two food tickets for grub at participating vendors such as the Local Pig, plus samples from a short list of breweries that includes Double Shift Brewing Co., Martin City Brewing Co. and Crane Brewing. The event is on the same day as the 53rd Tour of Kansas City, so expect to see cyclists zooming by. Participants are encouraged to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs.
When: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, June 4
Where: The Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd.
How much: General admission tickets cost $35 until April 25, when prices jump to $40. VIP tickets cost $50 and include an extra hour of tasting.

Westport Beer Festival
What: The sixth annual brew celebration in the heart of Westport organized by Beer KC and Sporting Kansas City. Ticketholders get unlimited tastings of more than 80 beers from 35 American and international breweries. The festival will also include appearances by Sporting Kansas City players Tim Melia, Roger Espinoza, Seth Sinovic and Ike Opara.
When: 5-9 p.m. Saturday, June 11
Where: In Westport outside McCoy’s Public House, 4057 Pennsylvania Ave.
How much: $35 in advance or $40 the day of the event.

Boulevardia
What: This annual urban street festival presented by Boulevard Brewing Co. in the West Bottoms features beer, live music, art vendors, food trucks, eco-education and family-friendly rides. Tickets to Boulevardia’s exclusive beer festival, Taps & Tastes, have already sold out, but there will be tastings and tappings throughout the festival grounds all weekend long.
When: 5-11 p.m. Friday, June 17, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, June 18, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, June 19
Where: In and around the 12th Street viaduct in the West Bottoms
How much: Single-day passes cost $15; VIP single-day passes cost $65 and include three beer tickets, complimentary water and access to a private bar and restroom. More info on ticket packages here.

KC Nanobrew Festival
What: More than 150 home-brewed beers will be on tap at the seventh annual KC Nanobrew Festival, which also features samples from local breweries, yard games, live music and food trucks.
When: 2-6 p.m. Saturday, July 30
Where: Berkley Riverfront Park, 900 River Front Road
How much: Tickets are $30 before April 30, when prices jump to $35. Each ticket includes a $5 food voucher and a full-sized souvenir glass.

UNICO Microbrew Festival
What: An annual beer festival in Zona Rosa organized by UNICO, the largest Italian-American service organization in the United States. UNICO is also known for its Festa Italiana, coming up June 3, 4 and 5 in Zona Rosa.
When: 4-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13
Where: Zona Rosa, 8640 N. Dixson Ave.

KC Beer Fest
What: Founded in 2007, KC Beer Fest taps more than 150 brews across two blocks of the Power & Light District. Ticketholders also have access to samples from rare kegs, live music and food trucks. The event is presented by Flying Saucer Draught Emporium.

Where: Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City
