Boulevard Tank 7 makes Men’s Journal’s 101 Best Beers in America

Cheers to Boulevard: The Kansas City brewery’s popular Tank 7 was tapped for Men’s Journal’s 101 Best Beers in America.

The farmhouse ale boasts “mild grapefruit notes” and “classic, floral pepperiness, according the magazine.

Men’s Journal added that Tank 7 “drinks easily” — maybe too easily.

“We’d discourage using any farm equipment after quaffing this 8.5-percent alcohol monster.”

Tank 7 wasn’t the only local brew tapped for the list. Old Backus Barleywine Ale from Lawrence’s Free State Brewing Co. and Songbird Saison from Manhattan’s Tallgrass Brewing Co. also made the cut.

It’s not exactly local, but Bière du Pays, a barrel-aged Belgian saison produced by Side Project Brewing in St. Louis, is featured alongside Tank 7 on Men’s Journal’s list.

Fun fact: Tank 7 is the beer that Boulevard sent Brooklyn Brewery after winning a World Series bet last year.
