Boulevard Brewing Co. will open a visitors center this summer
Boulevard Brewing Co. is expanding again.
The Kansas City brewery announced Thursday that it is converting a building at 2534 Madison into a visitors center. The design by Helix Architecture & Design includes a retail shop and tasting room on the first floor and a beer hall on the second floor. The beer hall will serve Boulevard beers as well as a limited food menu.
The new visitors center will be adjacent to the brewery, which is at 2501 Southwest Blvd. According to Boulevard, the brick building was originally constructed for Skelly Oil Co. in 1929.
The brewery said in a statement that the new space will help accommodate more visitors to the brewery, which gave 2,300 tours to nearly 60,000 visitors in 2015. Boulevard hopes to open the visitors center by late June.
