Happy Thanksgiving, Black Friday and ... game day, to those who celebrate.

It’s the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders — the salt-in-the-wound bus ride, Kermit the Frog impression, Christmas-day fiasco rivalry (pick your storyline of choice). They’re two teams who don’t like each other, and a win could leave the Chiefs on the doorstep of clinching a playoff berth ... already.

Today’s game will be broadcast at 2 p.m. Central on Prime Video (and KSHB 41 for those in Kansas City). You can listen on radio via KFNZ (96.5 FM) and WDAF (106.5 FM) in the KC area, and KNSS (98.7 FM) around Wichita.

Three storylines for Chiefs-Raiders on Black Friday

At long last: Isiah Pacheco and Charles Omenihu

Yes, they’re finally back.

The Chiefs running back, known for his signature running style that energizes the team and the crowd, will take the field for the first time since Week 2. He’ll join Kareem Hunt in a remade Chiefs backfield that should give the offense another jolt.

As The Star’s Blair Kerkhoff wrote on Wednesday, Omenihu might be an even bigger addition. He rejoins a Chiefs pass rush that could really use a spark.

Another close game?

Here’s a question to think about as the Chiefs face the Raiders — the team that dealt them a Christmas Day loss in 2023 to drop them to 9-6. How did you feel about the Chiefs last year? At one point, the Chiefs lost five of eight. They did not look anything like the champion they’d become in the postseason.

That’s a reminder columnist Vahe Gregorian echoed this week: These Kansas City Chiefs are 10-1. Maybe it’s worth focusing on the “10” more (and a little less on what hasn’t happened — as in, losses).

The emergence of ... TE2

Eventually, the Chiefs will need to find a replacement for Travis Kelce, who is having a down year even if he’s certainly picked it up since his quiet start. But another tight end — Noah Gray — is starting to get more use in the offense, with four touchdowns in the last two weeks.

For that, The Star’s Jesse Newell explored how Gray is even getting some Kelce-like looks with the Chiefs, and what it could mean for the offense.

More Kansas City Chiefs coverage

  • The left tackle spot got a boost with the addition of D.J. Humphries, but here’s the question: How much can a brand new left tackle — 11 months removed from major knee surgery — make an impact? The Star’s Sam McDowell introduces fans to the new KC tackle and lays out the case.
  • If you don’t live in the area, watching the Chiefs can be a bit of a chore. But there’s a reason they’ve ended up on so many streaming platforms with weird kickoff times (and days). It’s actually the highest compliment from the NFL.
  • The Chiefs’ defense has faltered in recent games, but a bounce back could be on the horizon. In fact, Steve Spagnuolo’s unit might be able to take advantage of one weird quirk with the Raiders’ starting QB.
