Expand All
Get ready, Chiefs Kingdom. This Wednesday, the city will transform into a sea of red as the 2023 Super Bowl Champions parade through town for their victory lap.
Route
The parade will start at noon at Grand Boulevard and Sixth Street, near Enterprise Car Rental and Grand Slam Convenience, according to a release from the Kansas City Sports Commission.
The parade will move south on Grand until it gets to Pershing Road, where it will turn right and work its way to Union Station.
Almost all cross streets on Grand between Sixth Street and Pershing Road will be closed for the parade, so be sure to avoid that area if you are driving or commuting.
There will be restrooms available on Seventh Street, Ninth Street, 13th Street, Truman Road, 18th Street and 22nd Street. There will also be restrooms near Union Station, Crown Center and on the lawn of the National WWI Museum and Memorial.
A victory rally will start at 1:45 p.m. at Union Station.
The National WWI Museum and Memorial will host viewing opportunities on its north lawn.
“I look forward to seeing Kansas Citians show our country, and the world, why Kansas City is a sports town like nowhere else,” Mayor Quinton Lucas said in a statement.
Fans can get parade updates from the city by signing up for text notifications from AlertKC. Text KCPARADE to 888-777, or check out the city’s parade website.
Road closures
Here are where roads will be closed starting on Tuesday:
Grand Boulevard: Closed from Berkley Park to Pershing Road starting at noon on Tuesday.
Parade route cross streets: Between Walnut and McGee streets, cross streets will be closed from Berkley Park on the north to Pershing Road on the south. That includes every numbered street from Second Street down to 22nd Street. Street closures will be in effect beginning at noon Tuesday.
Main Street: Closed from 20th Street south to Pershing Road.
Kessler Road: Closed from Pershing to the west side of the National WWI Museum and Memorial.
Oak Street: While the road to the east of the parade route will technically remain open, parade organizers are advising drivers to avoid the area on Wednesday due to extreme congestion.
Vehicular traffic will be allowed to cross the parade route at Seventh Street, 13th Street, Truman Road and 18th Street until Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. .
Pedestrian crossings on Grand will be available at Ninth Street, 13th Street, Truman Road, 18th Street and 20th Street. However, these crossings will close during the parade itself, which is scheduled for noon until 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
Parking
Parking restrictions are already in effect and will run until Wednesday evening. The streets running east and west through Grand Boulevard are now closed between Walnut and McGee streets from the Berkley Riverfront on the north to Pershing Road on the south.
Vehicles can cross at 7th Street and Admiral Boulevard, 13th Street, Truman Road and 18th Street until 9 a.m. on Wednesday, when the streets will close for the parade.
If your car is parked in one of these restricted areas, or if you’re parking on the interstate on Wednesday, officials say your car will be towed and relocated.
If your vehicle has been relocated, you need to call 816-513-0688 for the location.
All street parking around the parade route is first-come, first-served, so be prepared to leave early on Wednesday.
As for parking lots, Union Station and Crown Center are all selling parking passes for the parade for between $30-45. The National WWI Museum sold out of their passes on Tuesday.

Fixed bus routes and traffic overall will be affected as streets will be closed beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Streetcar service will also shut down beginning Wednesday and remain closed until “conditions allow,” according to the Kansas City Sports Commission, which is coordinating the events.
