After decommitting from Missouri, 3-star safety will visit one more time in June
Just over one month after pledging to Mizzou football, class of 2026 three-star safety D’Montae Tims decommitted from the Tigers on Thursday, per multiple reports.
Tims, who announced his commitment to MU on April 4, will be reopening his recruitment. While he’s no longer committed to the Tigers, they’re not completely out of the running for Tims. Per Rivals, he’s scheduled to visit Mizzou again from June 20-22.
Another school Tims is set to visit is Vanderbilt; he’s scheduled for a trip to Nashville from June 13-15. The Commodores initially offered Tims on Jan. 28, 20 days after Mizzou had given him an offer.
Vanderbilt has landed eight commits to its 2026 class. Additionally, the Commodores have already loaded up on defensive backs, securing commitments from four-star cornerback Caden Harris and three-star safety Karaijus Hayes.
Since his initial commitment to Mizzou, Tims has only taken one unofficial visit. He traveled to Wake Forest on April 8, four days after pledging to the Tigers.
Mizzou’s 2026 recruiting class now consists of just two players: four-star defensive lineman Anthony Kennedy Jr. and three-star quarterback Gavin Sidwar.
Since verbally committing to MU on Dec. 14, Kennedy Jr. has taken unofficial visits to Columbia, LSU, Tennessee and Georgia. He’s slated for a handful of official visits in the coming weeks: UGA on Friday, LSU on May 30, Arkansas on June 13 and Mizzou on June 20.
Sidwar is also set to visit Columbia on June 20.
