Missouri football lands 3-star safety from Florida in 2026 recruiting class
Almost four months after Mizzou football landed its first commit of the 2026 class, the Tigers added to it Friday.
Three-star safety D’Montae Tims out of Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida, verbally pledged to MU, per his social media.
According to Rivals, Tims had taken an unofficial visit to MU on Wednesday. He’d taken an official visit to Mizzou on June 20. The only other school he’d taken an official visit to was Vanderbilt, which he did June 13.
Tims also took unofficial visits to USF, UCF, Florida and Miami, although the latter two never ended up offering him. Tims also received offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Wisconsin and a handful of other power conference schools.
Tims now joins three-star defensive lineman Anthony Kennedy Jr. among Mizzou’s class of 2026 commits. The Little Rock, Arkansas, product committed to the Tigers on Dec. 14.
This past fall, Tims recorded 29 tackles, five pass breakups, three interceptions and two sacks. His statistics were self-reported, per 247Sports. Tims also helped lead Armwood to a 12-1 record; the Hawks suffered their only loss in the Florida 6A regional final to eventual state runner-up Osceola.
Including Tims, the Hawks had eight FBS commits on their 2024 roster who either had already pledged to a school or did so after the season ended.
In addition to safety, Tims took snaps at linebacker for Armwood. Should Tims remain committed to the Tigers, he’d join a long line of defensive backs who have doubled as linebackers, including Daylan Carnell, Jaylon Carlies and Martez Manuel, among others.
