Mizzou football earns four straight recruiting wins, landing North Carolina linebacker
The Missouri Tigers can’t stop picking up commitments, marking four straight days with a recruiting win.
The most recent addition to Mizzou’s 2021 football-recruiting class is three-star linebacker Dameon Wilson, who announced his decision on his Instagram Live account over the weekend. He donned a Mizzou shirt, choosing the Tigers over offers from Michigan State, South Carolina and other programs.
Mizzou coach Eliah Drinkwitz has roots in North Carolina after coaching last season at Appalachian State and serving as NC State’s offensive coordinator before that.
Wilson, a Kings Mountain, N.C. native, is listed at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds and ranks as the No. 441 recruit in the nation, according to 247Sports.
The Tigers’ recent spurt of recruiting wins started with junior college defensive end Shemar Pearl, who committed Thursday. Friday, it was Florida linebacker Zachary Lovett who pledged to Drinkwitz’s program. Saturday saw former Angelo State wide receiver Keke Chism commit to the Tigers, and he is expected to suit up next season.
Drinkwitz said last Wednesday that the Tigers needed to pick it up in recruiting after a recent dry spell.
Wilson is the 14th commtiment of MU’s 2021 recruiting class. Here are the 13 others:
