Mizzou football goes back out of state, this time for 2021 Florida linebacker
Missouri Tigers football coach Eliah Drinkwitz said Wednesday the Tigers needed to heat up on the recruiting trail after going nearly two weeks without a commitment.
Mizzou did just that, landing two commitments in two days, the newest being three-star linebacker Zachary Lovett. Lovett announced his decision on Twitter on Friday.
Mizzou landed junior-college defensive end Shemar Pearl on Thursday. The Rockledge, Florida, native is listed as the No. 716 recruit in the nation, according to 247Sports. Lovett chose the Tigers over offers from Miami, Purdue and Kansas. Lovett is listed at 6 feet, 2 inches and 210 pounds.
Lovett is the third Florida recruit to commit to the Tigers — all of them on defense. The other two Florida commitments are three-star defensive Davion Sistrunk and three-star cornerback Zxaequan Reeves.
