These KC neighborhoods still needed to be cleared of snow. Here’s what officials said

Kansas City’s fleet of snow plows continued to crisscross the city’s 6,400 miles of streets as heavy snow and windy conditions continue to fill them up, city officials said Sunday.
Every street in the city had been plowed at least once, Kansas City Public Works Director Michael Shaw said in a news conference about the city’s storm response.
But as of mid-afternoon, the city’s online snow plow map showed several residential neighborhoods that hadn’t been cleared in 16-24 hours. Those included the Oak Park, Waldo, Armour Hills, Nashua and Kirkside neighborhoods.
“With the volume of snow, it’s going to take a little longer than typical that we’d do it, but every street will be plowed,” Shaw said. “Every street will be cleared, that’s what we do. It’s not even an option.”
The city has a fleet of 300 plows and has 400 drivers that cycle through those trucks, and City Manager Brian Platt said those road crews are working to clear every neighborhood as quickly as they can.
“We’ve got a lot of plows in every single neighborhood,” he said. “One of the things that people might not be seeing is a plow every few minutes. Our routes are large, it takes us a while to clear each street. Just think about how much it takes to clear your own block with one plow, have the plow move to the next block.”
Mayor Quinton Lucas asked residents to continue to stay off the roads Sunday and “probably” through Monday, saying that the city expects snow removal operations to continue for “several” days.
“We have folks that are working overtime, and we’re using every single department,” he said, noting staff from the city’s health and planning and development departments are driving plows.
