Jackson County election results: Blue Springs, Hickman Mills & Kansas City votes

Voters in several communities in Jackson County have cast their ballots on key issues and races.

All the remains to be seen is who will win and whether ballot issues will pass or fail.

Polls close at 7 p.m., though you can still vote if you are in line by that time.

In the hours that follow, election boards will begin posting results, first from early voting, then from day-of ballots.

The Star will be sharing results here as those numbers roll in.

Blue Springs election results

Blue Springs will elect new council members and school board members, as well as deciding on a bond to upgrade its wastewater treatment facility

Center school board votes

The Center school district, which is located in Kansas City, has weighed in on three separate issues: school board members, a school bond and a tax levy.

Hickman Mills school election results

Like Center Schools, Hickman Mills in Kansas City has been voting on its school board and two closely related funding issues. The district says neither will increase taxes, but both are needed to help address a $14 million budget shortfall.

Grain Valley votes

On Grain Valley’s ballot was a new mayor and a school bond.

Independence election results

Independence is choosing a new mayor and a city council as well as deciding on a school bond to fund improvements to its buildings.

Kansas City earnings tax

In one of the biggest issues on the ballot, Kansas Citians will choose whether to continue a 1% income tax for another five years. The funds make up a large part of the city’s budget for services.

Lee’s Summit election results

Lee’s Summit has decided on its next mayor, city council members, school board and a taxy levy to increase pay for teachers.
