How did Kansas City vote on continuing 1% earnings tax? See election results
Tuesday, Kansas City voters weighed in on a ballot question that could have implications for dozens of city services and how much Kansas Citians will pay in taxes moving forward.
Both people who live in Kansas City and people who work in Kansas City currently pay 1% of their income into the city’s general fund, which funds 45% of the city’s general budget and pays for services like trash collection, fire services and affordable housing programs.
Unofficial results from Tuesday night show that KC residents definitively support continuing the tax for another five years.
