A downtown KC Royals stadium could be coming soon

Major League Baseball is very likely coming to downtown Kansas City — and, if voters approve, that new ballpark could be opening sooner than you might have imagined.

The image was made with a drone near the intersection of East 12th Street and Charlotte Street. One possible spot for a new baseball stadium would be in a substantial amount of land now mostly covered by ground-level parking and empty lots just east of the downtown government district.
