An Overland Park man was sentenced Wednesday to more than 22 years for a series of break-ins during which he sexually assaulted three women, according to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office.

William Louis Elliott was sentenced to 22 years and 5 months for three counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated sodomy by force and one count each of rape and aggravated sexual battery.

In November, a jury found Elliott guilty of breaking into three homes and sexually assaulting women in Shawnee between September and October 2018, when he was 18.

The attacks happened within days of each other at homes near 75th and Goddard streets and a third attack a few miles away near 55th and Caenen streets.

After the attacks were reported, Shawnee police asked the public for help finding Elliott. He was arrested a day later.
