Police arrest teen sought in Shawnee sexual assaults, burglaries

An 18-year-old man accused of invading three homes and committing or attempting sexual assaults in Shawnee was arrested Tuesday, one day after police sent out a plea for help locating him.

William L. Elliot was being held in custody on $150,000 bond on suspicion of aggravated burglary and aggravated sexual battery.

Police said two attacks occurred near 75th and Goddard streets and the third occurred near 55th and Caenen streets.

Two of the attacks — which happened over the last few days — were in apartments and one was in a single family home. Police said the attacks happened in residences that were not locked.
