KC police investigate homicide after stabbing victim dies at hospital
Kansas City police are investigating a homicide after a 63-year-old man who was stabbed Friday died.
Officers responded to a disturbance just after 8 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 3200 block of Linwood. They located a man who had been stabbed and he was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The victim was identified as Larry Dickerson, said Sgt. Jake Becchina, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department.
Witnesses told police that they saw Dickerson and another man in a physical altercation. The suspect ran west from the scene.
Police said Dickerson died Sunday at the hospital.
Dickerson lived at the apartment complex and was a maintenance employee.
His death was the 117th homicide in Kansas City this year. At this time last year, there were 86 homicides.
