According to Kansas City Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jacob Becchina, officers on a nearby call heard multiple gunshots near Meyer Boulevard and Swope Parkway just after 10 p.m.

When they arrived in the area they found a man inside a vehicle who appeared to have been shot. The man was declared dead at the scene, police said.
