Man shot Tuesday night outside Hardee’s in Northeast Kansas City has died, police say
A 30-year-old man who was hospitalized after being shot in the parking lot of a Hardee’s restaurant in Northeast Kansas City last Tuesday has died, according to Kansas City police.
Officers responded to the shooting in the 6300 block of Independence Avenue just after 8 p.m. that night, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
The man has been identified as Joseph P. Delgado. Police have not said what led to the shooting.
Two officers were in nearby parking lot when they heard between three and four gunshots coming from across the street at the Hardee’s. They immediately ran across the street and saw Delgado in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound, according to police.
Delgado was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died on Saturday, police said.
A car seen in the restaurant’s parking lot off Beacon Avenue appeared to have damage from gunfire, police said.
No arrests have been made and police did not release a description of the shooter.
