Man found shot in parking lot of Hardee’s in Kansas City; investigation ongoing

Kansas City police were investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the parking lot of a Hardee’s Tuesday night.

Police were called about 8:02 p.m. to the fast food restaurant at 6323 Independence Avenue. Officers found a man who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were described as life-threatening, police said.

A car seen in the restaurant’s parking lot off Beacon Avenue appeared to have damage from gunfire. The area remained blocked off Tuesday night.

Police did not have information about a suspect.

The investigation was ongoing.
