Man found dead in street in Kansas City after shooting Saturday night

Police were investigating a homicide Saturday night after a 38-year-old man was shot and killed in Kansas City.

Police officers were called to investigate a shooting about 9:30 p.m. at East 24th Street and Chelsea Avenue. Officers found the victim, who died at the scene.

On Monday, police identified the victim as Manuel Rodriguez-Garcia.

A couple of witnesses told police the victim had been seen walking down the street and acting erratically. The man approached a vehicle, they said, appeared to be talking to someone for a brief time and was shot, according to Capt. David Jackson, a Kansas City Police Department spokesman.
