New details in October mass shooting at Kansas City, Kansas, bar to be given by DA
The Wyandotte County district attorney’s office has said it will hold a news conference Wednesday afternoon to make an announcement about the October mass shooting at a Kansas City, Kansas, bar.
Prosecutors said they will provide new details in the cases of Hugo Villanueva-Morales, 30, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Javier Alatorre, 24, of Kansas City, who have each been charged with four counts of first-degree murder in connection to the bar shooting.
The mass shooting on Oct. 6 at the Tequila KC bar near 10th Street and Central Avenue killed four people and wounded five others. The victims killed in the shooting were Everardo Meza, 29, Alfredo Calderon Jr, 29, Francisco Garcia Anaya, 34, and Martin Rodriguez-Gonzalez, 58.
Alatorre was arrested quickly after the shooting, but Villanueva-Morales fled to Mexico, where he was arrested and was recently brought back to the metro area to face charges.
News in triple homicide
The district attorney’s office also plans to announce new charges against Ismael Caballero in the deaths of a Kansas City, Kansas, mother and her two children whose bodies were found in a burning home Dec. 30th.
Caballero has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of arson in the deaths of 32-year-old Yazmine Rodriguez-Santilla, 14-year-old Amerikha Rodriguez and 10-year-old Jean Carlos Rodriguez.
The district attorney’s office said the new charges are related to his Caballero’s alleged involved in an incident Dec. 29 at the house at 29th N. Mill St. in Kansas City, Kansas.
