Roeland Park woman sentenced in fentanyl deaths of pregnant woman, unborn child
A Roeland Park woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for her role in the Christmas Eve 2023 deaths of a pregnant woman and her unborn child.
Izabel Reed was sentenced Wednesday in Johnson County District Court. She received 195 months for one count of distribution of drugs causing death and another 105 months for a second count of distribution of drugs causing death, a release from the Johnson County District Attorney’s office said.
The sentences for Reed will run consecutively, according to an online Kansas courts database.
Reed pleaded no contest to the two counts in February in relation to the deaths of Alexandrea Hunter, 31, and her unborn child on Dec. 24, 2023, in Roeland Park.
Nicholas D. Gregg, of Roeland Park, is also charged in connection with Hunter’s death. He faces one count of first-degree murder, one count of distribution of drugs causing a death, four counts of distribution of drugs, including fentanyl methamphetamine, and two counts of use of a communication device in a drug crime.
