Roeland Park woman charged in Christmas Eve deaths of woman, unborn child
A Roeland Park woman was booked into the Johnson County jail Wednesday and charged in connection with the Christmas Eve 2023 killings of a woman and her unborn child, according to Johnson County court documents.
Izabel Reed, 24, faces one count each of first-degree murder, distribution of a controlled substance causing death and two counts each of distribution of an opiate/opium/narcotic/certain stimulant and distribution of heroin/certain stimulants, according to court documents.
Reed is accused of distributing fentanyl to 31-year-old Alexandrea Hunter, resulting in the woman’s death, according to court documents. Hunter’s unborn child also died as a result of the incident.
Previously, Reed was convicted of distributing heroin in January 2024, according to Johnson County court documents. She allegedly absconded while on parole in January 2025.
Reed is set to appear for a hearing in Johnson County court on June 12, according to court documents. Her bail is set at $1 million.
