Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas joined the planet in congratulating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on their engagement Tuesday.

“Kansas City has been proud to see your love develop at Arrowhead and around our village,” Lucas wrote on Instagram.

Then he reminded them of an offer he made earlier this year around the time of the Super Bowl.

In an appearance on CNN’s morning show on Feb. 7, Lucas was peppered for intel on the Swift-Kelce romance unfolding in Kansas City. What about an on-field proposal at the Super Bowl, the CNN hosts wondered — with the superstar Chiefs tight end proposing to the worldwide superstar singer?

“Might you officiate a wedding? What’s going on?” anchor John Berman asked Lucas.

“You know, I am excited to officiate the wedding. That would be the biggest job I could ever have,” Lucas said, playing along.

“People would be like forget being mayor, you’re the officiant for Travis and Taylor. It would be a bigger wedding than Princess Di and Prince Charles ... but I have no special intel.

“I think the most Kansas City special thing to be could be the on-field proposal... and then a wedding at Arrowhead Stadium. It’s like a Hallmark movie on steroids.”

Lucas posted that snippet of interview on Tuesday, with this message to the happy couple: “The offer still stands, BTW…”

Kansas City is ready and willing.

“@mayorqlucas officiating the wedding on RU’s campus let’s make it happen team!!” Rockhurst University wrote on the mayor’s post.

The couple did not announce any wedding plans Tuesday, though Kansas Citians have lots of suggestions.
