In Kansas City we don’t shout good news from the mountaintops.

We do it in lights.

And Tuesday brought news that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce fans have been hoping for, for months: they’re getting married.

So cue the lights.

Kansas City’s Union Station will herald the news of Swift and Kelce’s engagement by lighting up the building Tuesday night in colors used when the superstar singer first joined Chiefs Kingdom by dating tight end Kelce.

And in Leawood, city officials will bathe the “Reaching” public art sculpture at the corner of Mission Road and Lee Boulevard in red lights — the color of love and the name of a Swift album.

“Congratulations on the magical new era, Taylor and Travis!” Union Station officials posted to their social media accounts on Tuesday, just hours after the couple announced their engagement.

The posts included a photo of the landmark train station lit up in September 2023.

“On Sept 24, 2023, we shone in purple and red and posted this special welcome after Taylor first joined Chiefs Kingdom at Arrowhead,” reads the post, which references the date of the first home Chiefs game Swift attended.

“Tonight, we’ll celebrate with a special lighting with half the building illuminated in red and gold and half in orange and mint.”

“Oh the alchemy,” one follower on Instagram wrote, quoting the title of a Swift song.

Orange and mint green make up the color scheme of Swift’s forthcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

When she announced the album two weeks ago, Union Station and other Kansas City buildings — including City Hall, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and Children’s Mercy Research Institute — all lit up in orange.

Kansas City is known for honoring its big moments by lighting up the buildings on the skyline. When Kansas City lit up in orange, Swift fans hailed Kansas City for its strong civic support of their music idol.

“Swift has become a beloved figure in the Kansas City area in recent years, and her presence at Chiefs games has brought global attention to the region,” Leawood officials said two weeks ago when they first lit up their public art for Swift.
