Union Station lighting up in AFC Richmond colors to welcome ‘Ted Lasso’ cast, crew
The welcome mat is officially out for hometown guy Jason Sudeikis and his “Ted Lasso” cast and crew, who are filming for the show’s Season 4 in Kansas City.
Monday and Tuesday night, the exterior of Union Station will be lit in the colors of AFC Richmond, the fictional British soccer team that Sudeikis, as Coach Lasso, manages on the Apple TV+ series.
“Union Station will welcome the cast and crew with a special building lighting in AFC Richmond colors. Our exterior will shine in blue and red, with white and yellow accents,” the station announced on social media Monday.
Union Station frequently uses its exterior lighting to mark special occasions, holidays and major accomplishments by the city’s sports teams. In January, the historic building was bathed in a golden light to celebrate the birth of Golden Raye Mahomes, the third child of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
Before that, the building featured red, white and blue lighting to honor former President Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29.
On Monday, Apple TV+ posted a photo from the film set inside Gates Bar-B-Q in Midtown, where the show filmed on Sunday.
Sudeikis was seen with a crew filming on the Country Club Plaza on Monday.
