Once the sun set and skies darkened over Kansas City Monday night, Kansas City’s historic Union Station shimmered in a beautiful golden light.

The special lighting show honored a baby named Golden and her famous parents.

Golden Raye Mahomes was just born on Sunday, the third child of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes. But she is already making a huge splash in Kansas City.

With Kansas City brimming with Chiefs excitement, Golden’s arrival put sweet icing on the cake for fans, including the folks at Union Station.

Golden arrived in the nick of time, just six days before the Chiefs play the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Round at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday.

As the Chiefs continue their quest to win a third Super Bowl in a row, Union Station marked a three-peat of its own.

Station officials bathed the landmark building on Pershing Road in golden lighting Monday night “as we congratulate Patrick and Brittany on the birth of Golden Raye.”

Brittany’s response on Instagram? “Love this.”

Golden was the third Mahomes child to be welcomed there in lights.

Union Station officials lit up the grand building on Pershing Road in pink and white in February 2021 when the couple’s first child, Sterling Skye, was born.

Then in November 2022, Union Station was bathed in baby blue and white lights to welcome Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III to the world.

The station regularly lights up for holidays and special occasions. Most recently it featured red, white and blue lighting to honor former President Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29.

With the playoffs here, the station has shifted into high Chiefs gear, with giant Chiefs banners hanging in the front arched windows.

Meanwhile, Chiefs fans wonder if baby Golden will be nicknamed “Goldie.”

The Mahomeses began a tradition to name their children after metals three years ago when they named their first-born Sterling. Their second child is named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
