Police find two men dead after shooting near a Kansas City intersection
Update: The victim’s have been identified as Arron L. Hall, 18, and Deron Mchenry, 18, according to police.
Two people are dead after a shooting in Kansas City Sunday morning.
Police were dispatched around midnight near the intersection of 69th Street and College Avenue to the reported sound of gunshots, according to Sgt. Philip DiMartino, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department.
There, they found two men inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Arriving officers began doing life saving measures, according to DiMartino, but one was declared dead by paramedics at the scene. The second died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
No one is currently in custody, but investigators are working to figure out what lead up to the shooting and are searching for surveillance.
This marks Kansas City’s 74th homicide this year, compared to 69 killings reported this time last year, according to data tracked by The Star, which includes officer-involved shootings.
