How much do AFC Championship tickets cost? What to know in case the Chiefs host

If Kansas City Chiefs fans see the team selling AFC Championship tickets before Saturday’s AFC Divisional Round game, they shouldn’t worry that the team is getting ahead of themselves — it’s NFL protocol.

The Buffalo Bills are also selling AFC Championship tickets in case they host. The Chiefs allow fans to secure their seats before the game, and refund them if the game doesn’t happen. Supporters who bought tickets in advance, along with the team, are hoping to see another AFC Championship Game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Ticket prices for the AFC Championship Game vary depending on where you’re located, and it may change depending what time they play and how the weather looks.

The AFC Championship Game takes place at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, and should the Chiefs defeat the Houston Texans, they will host the winner between Buffalo and the Baltimore Ravens.

Here’s how ticket prices look around Arrowhead Stadium on the Ticketmaster website. All ticket availability and prices are accurate as of Wednesday, Jan. 15.

How much does a Chiefs AFC Championship game ticket cost?

Only verified resale tickets are available now for a potential Chiefs’ AFC Championship Game, and there are thousands for sale on Ticketmaster’s website.

The cheapest ticket is $343 before fees in section 314, row 14. This seat is located underneath the jumbotron and above the endzone. It’s one of the highest points in the stadium and offers no protection from the weather.

A seat one section over in section 313, row 13, costs $427. On the other side of the stadium in section 342, row 32, a ticket costs $345, and other seats in the section cost between $400 and 650.

Two tickets in section 208, row 4, go for $1,100 each, but a single ticket in the same row in section 245 costs $2,086. These seats are in the club level, which gives fans access to exclusive dining sections and lounges with full protection from the weather. The seats themselves are protected from some weather elements, like rain, because they’re covered overhead.

Tickets are available at the 50-yard-line in section 119, with $1,485 as the lowest price in row 29. The suite above 119 is also where Taylor Swift usually watches the games, and two verified resale seats cost $1,748 in row 36, which could land fans just a few feet away from the superstar. Row 1 seats in section 119 cost $4,500, which lands you just a few feet away from the Chiefs’ bench.

Seats directly across from section 119 on the visitor’s side cost less, but they are still expensive. One ticket in section 101, row 2, costs $1,898, landing you a few feet away from the visiting team’s bench. A seat in the same section in row 38 costs $1,272.

Fans can find a mix of prices in section 110, located behind one of the uprights. Resale tickets range between $704 and 802, located between rows 6 and 30. No seats are available in the club level section above 110.

These are more expensive than the AFC Divisional Round matchup against the Texans. Prices on Ticketmaster’s website Wednesday show the lowest price is $125 for seats all in the upper level, like sections 317, 341 and 343. Verified resale tickets are lower, starting at $120 in sections 332 and 342.

How much do tickets cost on resale ticket websites?

Other resale ticket websites also have AFC Championship tickets available for similar prices.

The lowest price on SeatGeek is $415 in section 315, row 14 and the highest is $2,670 in section 216, row 1. These prices do not include fees.

Prices on Overland Park-based Tickets For Less start at $378, which is also located in section 315, row 14. The highest price? $3,250 in section 201, row 1. The resale site does not add additional fees to ticket purchases.

A single ticket through StubHub costs $241 in section 337, row 14, before fees. The priciest ticket can be found at section 228, row 9, for $1,881.
