A new food vendor is on its way to the Lenexa Public Market food hall, serving a mix of Thai and Lao cuisine.

Saap Saap Noodles is expected to open in the market, 8750 Penrose Lane, in January, according to a news release from the city.

The vendor will serve family recipes from owner and chef Adison Sichampanakhone, who has roots in Laos and Thailand.

Saap, saap means “good, good” in Laotian.

“We aim to provide everything a ‘good’ meal embodies within southeast Asian cuisine,” Sichampanakhone said in the release. “Our mission is to offer homestyle recipes passed down from our families that create a sense of comfort when eating them.”

Saap Saap’s menu includes Lao-style pho, pad thai, khao poon and egg rolls. It will also serve Thai tea, coffee, cocktails and dessert like mango ice cream sticky rice.

Korean restaurant Kimchi and Bap recently closed its location in the Lenexa Public Market after being open for about a year.

Mexican food vendor Chilakillers closed in the market in July after less than two months of operating there.

Current tenants include Cosmo Burger, Cardboard Corner Cafe and African Dream Cuisine.
