Man, woman killed in double shooting along westbound I-70 in Kansas City, Kansas

A double shooting along Interstate 70 in Kansas City, Kansas, killed a woman and a man over the weekend, according to police.

Police responding to a report of a shooting shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday found the victims, both around 40 years old, on off ramp from westbound I-70 to 57th Street, according to the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Police have taken taken a suspect into custody, police said.

The victims’ deaths are the city’s 18th and 19th homicides so far this year. That compares to nine homicides by this time last year in Kansas City, Kansas.

Across the entire Kansas City metro area, there have been 108 homicides so far this year.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating the fatal shootings. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
