In Missouri, 19 presumed positive cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed overnight, bringing the state’s total to 47, Gov. Mike Parson announced in a Twitter post Friday morning.

It is not immediately clear how the numbers reported by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services figure into the cases reported independently by counties and cities in the state.

Friday night, the state was reporting 28 cases of COVID-19.

Among the new cases is an additional case in Kansas City, bringing the city’s total up from six to seven.

The state also announced the first case in Pulaski, Scott and St. Charles counties in Missouri.

The state agency is also reporting two new cases in Boone County, one new case in Greene County, two new cases in St. Louis County, three new cases in St. Louis City and three cases where the location has not yet been announced.

Cass County health officials Thursday reported four cases in the area, one more than state officials announced Friday.

Details about the patients, their condition and how they contracted the rapidly spreading virus were not immediately available.

One person in the state died from the disease Wednesday.

36 cases have been reported in Kansas.
