New Johnson County health-focused restaurant opening soon. What to know
Flower Child — an Arizona-based chain that says it’s a “modern, feel-good” spot — has announced the opening date of its first Kansas City-area location.
The upcoming restaurant, which will be at 3915 W. 83rd St. in Prairie Village, will open Aug. 11.
The spot in Corinth Square will mark the company’s 45th location, according to a press release.
While it’s the first Kansas spot, it’s held a presence in St. Louis since 2024.
Flower Child is owned by Fox Restaurant Concepts, the company behind Wildflower American Cuisine, The Arrogant Butcher, Olive & Ivy, and several other restaurants.
“We’re thrilled to bring Flower Child to Prairie Village and make our Kansas debut in a vibrant and welcoming community” Dave Luz, divisional vice president of operations for Flower Child, said in the release. “With the area’s strong neighborhood spirit and proximity to Kansas City’s dynamic dining scene, Prairie Village felt like a natural fit, and we can’t wait to welcome guests to enjoy wholesome dishes and our warm hospitality.”
Menu items include the Mediterranean chicken kabob bowl (summer squash, portobello mushroom, bell pepper, harissa, quinoa rice, yogurt sauce, Greek salad), yellowfin tuna poke bowl (sushi rice, spicy tuna, snap pea, scallion, cucumber salad, pickled ginger, avocado, furikake and yuzu ponzu) and The Rebel “French dip” wrap (grass-fed steak, charred onion, arugula, creamy horseradish, fontina cheese and bone broth).
Gluten-free mac and cheese, chicken enchiladas, avocado Caesar salad and more are also on the menu.
The Prairie Village spot, which features an open kitchen and patio, will offer to-go, dine-in, pickup and delivery.
The more than 3,700 square-foot space will also have a patio.
Across the street in Corinth Square, health restaurant Modern Market Eatery has been serving customers for three years. Nearby, Italian restaurant Va Bene recently announced its closure.
